The only bright spot in any of this is - Savage and Deculus are about the most ready to play freshmen (of course, Savage is a RS) we've had at the position in a long time - maybe not Rodney Reed/Ben Wilkerson ready to play, but they'll do - should it come to that.

And it's coming to that. Charles is another young player - lots of raw athletic ability, but still a little inexperienced. He could be pressed into duty at OG by mid-season.

Hope we sign 5 in this upcoming class and that nobody gets hurt this fall.
We are thin

We are thin but the starters will be a top 3 in the SEC group.

Honestly, this is about the minimum we can do and stay viable for the next 3 to 4 years. Let's assume the blue chips from this class - Deculus, (Sorry, Ingram, Savage is actually a reshirt from 2016) and Charles are all starters in 2018. We will still have depth issues in 2018 and 2019 if we don't get 3 or 4 guys in 2018 who are clearly 2-deep guys by their second year. That's probably going to be true in 2019, as well.

That's how desperate the depth situation is right now. I wouldn't mind signing 7 if it's the right 7.
