WShat year and against what team did paul Ditzel use two BQ's in the same play and it worked . it was if i remember right a direct snap to which ever QB was to get the ball. We had two QB's about the same as we do now , a passer and a runner . The def did not know which would get the ball and they had to set up for both . So no 8 or 9 in the box

Where did you hear about this?

I know that Warren Rabb (BRHS) was QB from around '57 to '59, and that Pat Screen (Jesuit) was QB from around '63 to '65, but off the top of my head I don't know who came before either one.

EDIT: Nope. Nelson Stokley (Crowley) was from '65 to '67.

Of course Dietzel coached the 7 seasons from '55 to '61.

Also, Dietzel had some ridiculously talented RBs during his time (Jimmy Taylor, Billy Cannon, Johnny Robinson, Jerry Stovall, Wendell Harris, Earl Gros, etc.), so I'm willing to bet that the 2nd QB in such a situation was more of a RB than anything--which wouldn't be that uncommon of a play for back then anyway.

Lynn Amedee replace Rabb, then Dietzel was gone, I don't recall anything like the OP described.

Screen and Nelson Stokley were here at the same time after Amedee, I don't recall them ever being in at the same time.

Actually Lynn Amedee was the Go Team qb; Jimmy Field was the White Team qb during that period (60-62)
