I'm pretty sure I've read on here that the Florida game is the next game that matters to anyone...so I assume everyone will reserve judgment until after that.

A civil war takes two sides somewhat equal in strength and conviction. If LSU loses 2 to Cuse and Troy, it'll be more like the French Revolution and O and Alleva would be Louis the 16th and Marie Antoinette.

That said....2 ugly wins and the drums of war are booming.

Then again, did the Gobbler Rant unload mercilessly on Frank Beamer after the 7-48 blowout in Baton Rouge, back in 2007? I can only visualize the invective leveled at the coach

This was a team that later felt it was the rightful opponent to Ohio State in the 2008 NC game!

Ain't gonna happen.

We will be 4-1.

And all the long-term concerns with the head coach and the direction of the program will remain.

If we lose or struggle vs Syracuse that is not a good omen

If we lose to both teams 870 AM would be a drunken hate fest, LSU would be 2-3, and I won't have to sit next to a bunch of want-to-be coaches in the stands cuz most would either no show or leave at the half. Finally, I would be able to stretch out like in the 90's, piss whenever I want not missing a thing (no lines), and drink bourbon all the way through the fourth.

If the Tigers lose either of these games then the likelihood of beating a conference opponent becomes virtually nil. Unfortunately Missouri and South Carolina don't appear on the schedule.

Nobody likes losing but It won't stop me from enjoying myself, the games, or events during the day.

ETA: For the record, I don't think we lose to either team. But I have been known to guess incorrectly from time to time.

they did it in '04 & '08

we ain't defending champs this year, so maybe that'll change.

Between Syracuse and Troy, Syracuse is the better team, but not by much.

If either team plays a close game vs the Tigers, then the SEC schedule ahead looks bleak.

I think this sums it up:

I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
