Just out of curiosity, what would this move look like? Board of supervisors?

Alleva is the problem in my opinion in that he essentially created this whole situation with this fruity $15M buyout.

There is no situation. We are just paying it. Whats the big deal?

And Alleva has done a good job as AD. Most of our sports are thriving across the board. Do people not remember Joe Dean and Skip Bertman? The Alleva hate is absurd.

Do all the Alleva haters go back into hiding once Fisher is hired?

It would take a huge rally of TD posters assembling outside his office chanting catchy slogans and flinging piss balloons

Jesus, hop off Alleva's nuts. He's not going anywhere. The BOS are beyond happy with him.

CLM's agent created this situation. Alleva wanted a clause where CLM couldn't be in contact with Michigan, so the tradeoff was this ridiculous buyout. You have to give in order to get

Mens Basketball - Two poor head coach hires.....not exactly lighting the world on fire. The second of which was plucked from a small directional school at the behest of folks hanging around the athletic department. A coach who didn't get a scratch of interest from any other major programs after several years at that directional school. Has done a decent job of acquiring talent, but has absolutely no clue what to do with it.

Womens Basketball - Seems to be going in the wrong direction currently.

Softball - Pretty good hire.

Baseball - He didn't hire Maineri, but the program remains pretty good.

Facilities - Outside of Tiger Stadium is fabulous, the inside of the stadium remains a dump. As I've mentioned in other threads the bathrooms in most parts of the stadium resemble something out of a Turkish prison. The TV's in the concourses by the concession are relics from the 80's, and most don't even work.

And for the OP to remove Alleva it would need to be done by the Board of Supervisors. Which just gave him a raise and extension, so unfortunately it doesn't look like it will happen soon. Funny enough, from what I've heard most despise him, but he has two large boosters in his back pocket which won't let him go anywhere.

Someone's not too bright at how college football coaches get their contracts structured these days.

First hire looked good at the time and Alleva was new and didn't realize that he needed a salesman more than a coach for basketball. Remember he came from Duke. They don't need to sell the basketball program. Second hire just got the number one recruit in the country, and it is November and LSU BASKETBALL is leading on sportscenter almost every night they play no matter who they play. Great exposure for the future.

Look at other sports facilities besides football. You know he is the Athletic Director not Football Director. Upgraded basketball practice facility, tennis facilities, nutrition center for all athletes, and upgrading football ops.
