I really believe how Harris starts will set the tone on offense for the game.

1. Have a healthy drive lead to some kind of points.
2. Keep Harris on his feet. Whether it is throwing from the pocket, or rollout/flushed and throwing on the run. Give this kid a chance to throw.
3. Defense needs to be disciplined. The long scoring plays and quick drives from Auburn could put LSU in a hole.

If these young kids of LSU start out hot and can calm the strong first SEC away crowd they have see, it will show them that they can win. If they come out flat the first few drives their confidence will diminish.

Turnovers

On paper, LSU with a young QB and a porous defense doesn't look like they have much of a chance to beat Auburn at Auburn. But Turnovers can be the great equalizer, and those things happen. That is our only chance.

To win:
1) Stop the run game for Auburn
2) Run plays from shotgun and spread out Auburns D along with keeping them on their toes

To Lose:
1) Run up the middle for no gain
2) Run the option to the short side

if LSU can score a TD right off the bat, it'll quiet that crowd somewhat early.

Les has to "let er rip" and not ultraconservative.

LSU is "supposed" to lose the game. he needs to play to win. go for it on 4th and 1 early etc.

It's really simple.

1. Middle of the defense steps up and stops the run

2. Protect the ball on offense.

I think we can do #2.
Have zero confidence we can do #1

I think Fournette has a huge game with Harris at QB. I could see LF7 going over a 100 rushing and also scoring a receiving TD. I think Harris starting will be the best thing that could have happened for LF.

4 Turnovers by AU and 4 defensive stops by our defense. That is all.

Executing a game plan that has been laid out for our men in order to defeat and overcome a different opponent of quality that we will face in the hostile environment that may become apparent late in the evening this upcoming saturday on a field of battle we are familiar with.

We need to come out and punch them in the mouth early ...I realize this will result in a 15 yard penalty but if we can just keep punching them in the mouth they will all have bloody mouths then we win.

Les still has much confidence in welter, so, I think Welter has to have the game of his lifetime. The rest will fall into place

I could see this happening, I agree, it will open up the run

I wasn't concerned about Auburn at the beginning of the season. After watching our QB (AJ) play especially against State, I didn't think we will score more than 20.
Then there's this ray of hope in Harris. I'm still optimistically cautious about this game. If Harris could display half of what we saw against NMState (3 tds in the first 7 drives), we get out of that place with a close win. First drive will dictate how things go as it will either be a confidence booster or a buzz kill for Harris. I hope we throw the kitchen sink and some more in that drive to get a TD!

We have to stick with what Harris knows.

My concern is that since Harris is making his first collegiate start, Miles is going to run his I Formation offense into 9 man fronts, and not do anything different until the game is out of reach.

It will take 3-4 Auburn turnovers, that turn into point, LSU playing turnover free ball. This still may not be enough, as Auburn will gash us up the middle badly!!! We just do not have the athletes on the d-line that we are used too!!
