He had no prior connections to LSU or Louisiana, and has only been the president of the university for about two years.
This was a political move on his part. He couldn't care less whether the team goes 11-1 or 7-5.

True, frankly the playoffs have ruined bowl season for the most part. I really no longer put any emotional energy into these games. They're largely irrelevant.
