There have been a number of posts with this topic. The argument being that the preseason expectation is a justification of where we are now. To me the better question is...what was your honest expectation of our season after we were 7-0 and had a clear front running Heisman candidate. Did any of the people remembering their preseason expectations think we would get blown out by double digits in the next three games? Making this a simple W/L argument is simplistic at best.

Better hire a coach who can help us score points cause def looks weak with the front 7.

9 and 3 or 8 and 4. I honestly think we ended up better than what I had thought simply because I knew our QB's stunk. Just did not know the db's sucked too. Well and the offensive live, well and the well never mind.

8-3, 5-3 I also predicted one game would be cancelled.

I saw 16 returning starters, a generational back, better DL play, a dominant defensive backfield, better qb play.
10-2 with loss to Bama and Ole Miss. Tough losses. Not blow outs.
And a bowl win.
If things fell right maybe an SEC Championship and the playoff.

k.
At that point in the season. I figured 10-1 was likely, with the loss coming at Alabama. I was really impressed with the 730 yards passing we'd accumulated in the 3 games prior to the Bama. I figured adding this new dimension--passing--to our offense give us a great chance of going through that killer end-of-the-season 4-game stretch at 3-1.

7-5 overall; if the team loses to A&M we finish at 7-4. Naturally I hope we beat the shite out of A&M.

Did not think 7-0(8-0 w/mcneese), could not see LF7 being odds-on Heisman favorite at any point, but I thought 9-3 realistically. However, I never thought those 3 losses would be in such a mind-boggling, program-changing, CLM-removing fashion.

I was as thrilled as anyone with the LF7 and playoff hype, but there were massive indicators through the first 7 games of the deficiencies and that they weren't (seemingly) addressed. Fandom has definitely been tried this season.

On a positive note, as a Poke alum, I thought Mcneese would have two losses, but the lightning cancellation has MSU undefeated. Looking forward to the playoffs.

Did you at least expect the team to be competitive and not totally predictable in the losses?

10-2 with Harris. Beating MS St, Fl, Auburn, Ark, and A&M. Close losses to Bama and Ole Miss. Zero skull draggings

10-2, 9-3 but I actually expected Harris to be coached up and get batter as the season went along, not regress.
