The entire stadium had a lot of empty seats. It was prob the most empty it has been all season for non scrub games. And yeah it was pretty sad that the Aggies fans up top were louder than our students.

How long have you been following LSU basketball? Were you expecting a sell out for a noon tip coming off a loss? I thought the people that were there were pretty loud when we needed. Pretty good atmosphere IMHO.

one upper student section was totally empty

It was roped off, presumably for recruits from "Boys From the Boot" or whatever it's called.

What kind of performances does she do??

I actually wasn't trying to be a wise guy....was wondering if maybe the daughter was a cheerleader or in the band, or what...

Interesting discussion..

I was at the game in College Station and it was the opposite. Their students were getting 2500 seats and 5000 showed up. They were all let in because there were 2500 seats still unsold to the general public. That's why they had the largest attendance in their history and it was loud.

It's really pretty simple. Put up a good product and the place will be packed. What more can be said. It is certainly not that our students are not fans.

When we are 1st place in the SEC and playing the #15 team in the country who is 1 game back in the standings, absolutely. And like i said before, it was very close to a sellout if you exclude the students.

I was there as I have been for every home game this year. There were way more than 10 people leaving.

I had work. The OT told me to pick up a part time to pay for college like they did back in their day and the 8 dollars an hour I make flipping burgers really put a dent in my 5-7K worth of school cost this semester

It may have technically been nearly sold out, but there were plenty of empty seats.

The completely empty section was reserved for Boys from the Boot.

I agree in principle, but that's not really how LSU basketball fans operate.

It is an interesting phenomenon that has been going on for years because I have seent it with my own 2 eyes for years...

LSU could be up..or down...by 2 points with 10 seconds left and people will head for the exits. And it is like they all look over their shoulder to see if anyone else is following them in their quest to be "the first one to the parking lot to beat the traffic".

So you buy tickets for the game, drive to the game, park for the game, walk into the game, watch the game, and then leave with 10 seconds left and the game is still in doubt just so you can save 15 minutes in traffic. Makes perfect sense to me

The section you spoke of was some big group that went to the game. I'm not sure what kind of group it was. They got there a few minutes after tip off and left a few minutes after the 2nd half started. Entire section was empty.

Note: some LSU fans leave early from all three sports I have season tickets to...football, baseball, and men's basketball.

That is true. It just seems to happen more at basketball. Maybe it is just more noticeable. I guess it is someone's prerogative but it does look good and certainly isn't supportive of all the hard work our players put in.

BTW, several of the aggies with 12th man (umm maybe 6th man for basketball???) sat in our student section and were not booted out by fans or the game wardens.

I know some of us, myself included, planned on going, but partied to hard on Friday night and just didn't quite make it

I can understand leaving early from a baseball game during the regular season. There are so many of them and the weather can be crappy, along with the opponents.

I am with you a 100%. Don't understand this outside of this just being lazy. Oh well, seems to roll that way these days.
