Usually runners stop at 26.2 and not continue running 4 extra miles.

He’s working in the younger guys against a team that really doesn’t matter. He’s trying to get them all a lot of experience before SEC ball starts. Pulling Floyd yesterday was a mistake. It did help get a few other guys some time, I guess all in all.....

Thank God for the home run...

I am sure with SEC play starting next week everyone was on some sort of a pitch count. I don’t know if this was the reason why but it could be what CPM is thinking.

He has done this his whole career at LSU.

This early in the season, I suspect he is trying to figure out who will be his "go to" guys in the bullpen. Throw them out there and see what they got. The real season begins next week. I am not a great PM fan and I realize the SEC is brutal, especially the west side. I have to wonder if PM is at a point where he is treading water and thinking about retirement, albeit the days of LSU dominating SEC baseball is a thing of the past. It is now a brutal league and we need a dynamic coach.

With how stacked the SEC is this year and us already losing a series to Oral Roberts this series definitely matters. Pulling Floyd was a HUGE mistake. If you want to get guys ready for SEC play then leaving him in is exactly what he should have done. Floyd is very good letting him shut the door woulda been a good confidence boost for him and the team as a whole.

Yes. It look like Marceaux had a 2-3 more outs in him.

He will still pull good pitching at the end of the season as always. But leave bad pitching in for two to many batters

Which is why he hasn't won any SEC championships, SEC tournaments, ever been to a regional or super regional and never been to Omaha.

Yeah his whole career at L S U has been empty.

It’s been under performing for LSU and with the talent they have every year. Seems like only a handful of players continue to develop throughout their college careers.

All starting pitchers were on a pitch count around 90 this weekend. This is the way CPM has always handled the weekend before SEC

And what happens if he didn't? Then the complaints would be that PM pulled him too late. That is what is so maddening about so many of these complaints. At one time it is PM leaves them in too long. At others, it is that he pulls them too early. Maybe it's not as easy as everyone makes it out to be? It seems like it's just easy to always look back and criticize.

So you'd prefer that Marceaux throw nearly, or even over, 100 pitches the week before the SEC schedule begins?

I wouldn't.

It’s early in the season & he doesn’t respect the opponent. Simply thinks anyone can get them out

He didn’t expect the backend of the bullpen to forget how to throw a ball near the strike zone. By simply throwing strikes they win that game in 9 innings.
