Will he come in and win a national championship? Will he win 2 sec championships? Will he have an undefeated regular season only to have to play a team he beat already match up in the championship game? Will he have the most players drafted in a 9 year span? Will he be 31-9 at home against sec teams? Will he be 25-15 on the road against sec teams? Will he win 65% of his games against top 25 opponents?

I hope not, because if he does he's fired. I'm no lover of Les miles but it looks like Joe Alleva is about to destroy the program. I have no faith in Les but has Alleva shown that he is capable. Or is this all a move to save his arse?

I don't care what Les did a decade ago in all honesty. What he did then got him to keep his job up until today.

In the last three years, LSU has been middle of the road and that is unacceptable for someone making $4M annually coaching college football.

If Les had any hope at all of repeating that going forward, we wouldn't be talking about this right now. He has been given the benefit of the doubt on many occasions but at this point he has used up all his rope. There is no divine right to be the LSU coach in perpetuity, no matter who you are or what you've done.

Until the honeymoon is over. They'll give him a pass early but wait 2-3 years.

I get what you're saying, but it is more about how his loses and even wins have looked the past few years.
Especially with the Playoff Committee talking about "eye ball tests"

I'd like Les at AD but that's not likely to happen

Let us never forget those on the Rant saying there was no excuse for players cramping inside the Superdome "after" the 2003 BCSCG...

Is Alleva a bigger problem than miles? That is my biggest concern. If the next coach comes in and wins 7in his first year and and 7 in his second Alleva should go.

Les in his first two years went 11-2. The next year he went 12-2. If the next coach loses three games at any point t in his first three years he and Alleva should be fired. Don't give that crap that this was Saban's recruits because we have a number 1 class set up right now.

The half of the fan base that has wanted Miles gone for a while will be ecstatic. The half that has supported Miles as the LSU coach will do the same, and they will be ecstatic.

How he performs will determine how long the honeymoon lasts, as always. I believe we will get a guy that has a great resume and has won big.

He's being fired because he can't beat Saban. Which means he will get out recruited and never make the sec championship.

So your saying he only lost to one coach the last three years.

Not all.

It will be the same old shite on the rant.

There will be factions who wanted a different coach.
There will be the usual "I never played the game but I know more than the coach" cabal.
The complain about every thing bunch won't go away.

They all will show up with the usual complaints, gripes and personal attacks the launched against Les Miles. They will deride those who support the new guy as "sunshine pumpers" while claiming for themselves the title of "reality Tigers".

In short nothing will change but the name of the target.
