I would not consider that corner turned just after watching the spring game or just after listening to pre season rhetoric.

I think Les has been gun shy about the middle of the field since 08 and the Pick 6s by Lee.

It's time that we actually have passing catching TEs to compliment our big bruisers like Shipley and Gordon. DeSean Smith, Jacory Washington, and Colin Jeter all excel as route-runners and pass catchers and they will be utilized this year. You saw in the Music City bowl and the spring game where Smith was used as a hot read in a crossing route. In the spring game, Jeter ran a corner route and Jennings just had to put the ball up because no one could cover him. Gordon can also be used as an underneath possession receiver coming off the line as well. Instead of the TEs running a seam to try to pull LBs out of the middle so that WRs could run dig routes, they'll be used more like receivers and less like diversions.

Because the TE position is not part of the passing game in Miles philosophy but a major player in the running game. What non-Crowton offense in the Miles era has utilized the TE much in the pass game? And even then not heavily involved in the game plan throughout the season.

The TE will be 7's good friend.

Did anyone watch the Music City Bowl?

Yes we FINALLY threw it to a tight end and look what happened.

So 5 years is forgotten because we used one game to throw to our TE's?

Not utilizing the TEs in offense has been one of life's great mysteries for years around here. It's almost as if the coaching staff can't comprehend the benefits of throwing to them. Who knows maybe it will be better this year.

there isn't a TE who earned enough confidence to throw it to. If there was they would've been used.

What do you mean. They threw to him on the very first play.

Because in Les' old school philosophy, the TE is basically an extra OL as noted by the massive size of our TEs this year and in years past. Blocking first, catching second. I think we'll see that start to change now though.
