Everyone is upset because LSU chose the best guy with all things considered.

Saban and Meyer no way takes LSU job.

Jimbo was an option but he wanted NFL free agent money.

Herman was all in with Texas.

All others need not apply or interview.

You have a guy who literally coach the team to a 6-2 record.

Lsu fans want some Frick tard that has never been on LSU's campus let alone coach the players. EFFN AMAZING!!!

Really, a guy with a 21-29 record is the best guy out there?

Seriously, that is then best one out there?

It is a lazy approach to hiring a new coach. He took the easy way out and it will set the program back 5 years minimum.

So there were no other coaches that could be had who have better resumes than Orgeron?

Who gives a rats arse about the record? Why should any of us care what happened a decade ago? Things change, people learn from their mistakes, they improve.

Unless you can tell me that O is the same quality of coach he was at Ole Miss, I don't see how that matters.

5-2 and we are loaded with talent...I do think he did a good job overall, but we did lay a couple of eggs against the two best teams he faced.

People are mad because they settled for their 3rd option and didn't have any other candidates lined up with a 2 month head start on everyone else.

People are mad because this hire signifies the thing they've known in their guy for years, that they didn't want to admit. LSU is not a desitination top job in the country, it's a tier 2 job that people will only take as a stepping stone or if nothing else is open.

We outplayed Florida and should have had a walk off TD and we played Alabama close except for one screwed up running play....you make the call on the holds.

You can pay 2 coordinators 4.5 million combined but wouldn't give 6 to your HC?

Laying an egg implies we put up 0 points. LSU only did that against bama.

Everybody keeps bringing up his stint at OM.

You live and you learn, all of you have ever made bad decisions in the past and all have learned and moved on.

He was at OM: NO ONE has success at OM, lol. They have a culture of FAIL.

I'm not saying that CEO is the savior, but we could have done substantially worse. Give the man a chance to see what he can do.

He of all people know the expectations and know if he doesn't produce his firing will be a business decision, not an emotional one.

What was Belicheck's record at the Browns? What was Carol's record at the Pats.

I'll admit my 1st choice was Fisher, was not sold on Herman.
There was a coach that was awful in his first shot as HC . Went 36-44 from 91-95. Did not get another HC job for another 5 yrs . In his 1st yr in his 2nd shot of being a HC he went 5-11. That coach is Bill Belichick, the BEST HC in the NFL , Now I'm not saying Coach O is a Belichick , but you can't always judge a coach on their 1st HC job and Ole miss was TEN YEARS AGO , and since then he had a good run as the temp at USC . Those of you that say we'd have done the same this yr with Miles ? You are delusional!!! We would have lost by MORE to bama and probably to AR and who knows what other games Miles would have blown .

Pretty smart move to give up cash to sweeten the pot for top flight generals don't you think

That's only true when it comes to making the SEC Championship game. That's just an inconsistent program and they don't have talent like LSU. They've beaten Bama 2 of the last 3 years, but they always fade toward the end of the season. O's teams over there started bad and finished bad. I think he's more mature than he was when he was there so that's a good thing. Still, it is relevant experience.
