the defense is young and the dline has no depth. Aranda is doing what he can with what he has.

I applaud him if he did. Any quotes to prove it?

think the loss of 5 starting NFL players is a majority of the problem (Adams, White, Beckwith, Riley, Godchaux)

I was blasted for saying this before the season started. I was told that our defense would be even better this year because Aranda would have had more time to implement his scheme.

This...never heard him saying we were going to take a step back on defense.

The more you think about...Canada, Orgeron, and Etling are receiving an unfair amount of criticism.

They are all getting second guessed and put in a bad spot because Aranda and the defense are receiving a free pass. They should settle down and coach/play (Etling) with confidence.

Aranda needs be a team player, realize we still have faith in him, make a public announcement acceptably culpability to relieve pressure on Etling and Canada and then go into his Louisville prep mindset and fix the defense.

The defense actually has youth and line depth problems. Aranda gets a pass for me, because by and large he is limiting the running game and making teams become one dimensional...even with an offense that does him ZERO favors and a punter that loses him about 10 yards on every exchange.

The offense does not, the offense was supposed to be better. It is worse.

I mean it's not like the offense doesn't deserve criticism here. They both do and I have seen just as many people speak poorly of our defense (especially after miss st).

Unfair amount of criticism? No, we got completely blown out by Mississippi St and kept it close with Syracuse until the end of the 4th quarter. Criticism is warranted on ALL fronts.

This is exactly it though. We're quibbling about QB play which hasn't even been bad. Our biggest issue is the lack of defense. It's uncharacteristic of LSU and it's holding us back. Blown coverage, little pressure on the QB, and lack of physicality

Jamal Adams is one of the best football players to ever play for LSU. We saw him make so many plays that the non-routine became routine. Delpit will be another monster for us, but it's going to take time. Talent vs Age is what it seems everyone is dealing with on this site.

I said the D would struggle, but the narrative was not with Aranda. I saw no one in that secondary as good as white and Adams at the time they left.

I just didn't think we'd get pushed around by state and Syracuse.

Agree with this...our d-line is arguably the biggest issue on the team. Hoping the Texas Tech transfer will make an immediate impact next year.

Our line play sucks on both sides of the ball, PERIOD.

Some of this is due to attrition, but most of it is due to execution.

We simply will not win against good competition without better line play.

Nope not true, I predicted Etling was going to suck.!! Yes sir, I did.
