I'm withholding judgement on those expectations until I see what he does next month when recruiting begins. If he holds on to the team he's got I think you max out at probably a 16-15 record or so.
But if you change out three or four of the bottom-level players on the roster and replace them with decent players - maybe picking off a Top 100 recruit somewhere, plus a couple of quality JUCO kids who can upgrade the team - it's not impossible to put an NIT team on the floor.
Then the second key stage will be the signing period in November. Depending on whom and how many get sent packing, it's possible you'll be looking to sign as many as seven kids for the second year of Wade's tenure here. Barring some sort of Fab Five type class he might sign, that's a team which would probably struggle with some relatively extreme inexperience and you might be in a situation where duplicating the first year's success could be difficult.
But by year three, Wade will have turned over the roster more or less completely and it'll be almost all his players - and more than that, it'll be his players mostly with a year or two of experience playing for him. That should be an NCAA team, and we should have a credible program capable of winning consistently from there.
But it starts with what he does next month. He pulls off a miracle in the spring signing period, and he could very well accelerate his schedule.
