No other sports have them yet.
I assume Bertman is coming at some point.
Wonder who will be the first football one?

I don't see the problem with honoring all-time legends of the sport with a statue. One of the greatest ever at LSU and in the NBA.

The fact that Maravich doesn't have one yet is dumb.

It kinda helps that the building is named after him.

You do realize that the reason Shaq got one is because he donated a lot of money to LSU basketball. Maravich isn't even in the LSU hall of fame because he never graduated from LSU.

Should be a statue of all head football coaches to win a championship. Saban on an elevated podium in the middle, with Miles and Dietzel on either side.

Am i the only one that is perfectly fine with LSU not having statues of individual people? I think it makes a statement that The Program is bigger than one person.
I know Shaq has one but he basically paid for that himself.

That's a little deep. It's just a statue to honor a great player. When visiting fans they will see them and realize great players like Pettit and Shaq played at LSU. Most young people probably have no idea who Pettit is.

I agree. not crazy about statues.
Or if you're going to do it, go all the way, like a poster on here suggested last time this came up, and put them all around in the arches of tiger stadium like the Roman Colosseum had. would be pretty badass.

His number is retired, so that's pretty ridiculous.

As much as I loved Pete, Petit should come first. Modern day folks just don't realize that he was as great a player as Pete in his own way. All time NBA great also. Nice gentleman to boot.
