Didn't Chavis just say a week or so ago that this was one of his best units ever?

So instead of playing these guys in real games, we hide behind 3 until they are huffing and puffing in the 3rd quarter? Has anybody seen that all the players we play have a disadvantage?

Neal - is 255 and about 5'11 (the guy should be a FB)

Godchaux - is about 275 at best and 6'4, coming off a leg injury

LaCouture - is just not that strong. He's ok, but it's probably why he was a DE. I know people want to talk about Brockers, but he was and is a brute

Thomas - has a messed up arm and is not that strong to begin with

We already have 2 undersized DEs who aren't explosive and then we have four DTs in rotation who all have some type of problems. I like Godchaux, but without a guy like Valentine or Bain/Gilmore to take up two blocks, his speed pretty much is useless.

At least try Bain and Gilmore, what could it hurt?

They don't. Fournette's long runs in those scrimmages, came when he made something out of nothing. Re-watch the spring game, and see how neither Magee or Hilliard couldn't get anywhere.

Do people not realize that LF is averaging 5.3ypc and running really well???

It's not his fault Les gives him less than 10 carries a game, even when he's clearly our best and most effective RB out there. 5.4ypc vs Miss st, but only 7 freaking carries and barely any any in the 2nd half.

And he still leads our RBs in YPC. And LF is a true workhorse RB who gets better the more he touches the ball. He needs to be seeing at least 15 carries a game. He's a workhorse with the speed to bust some long runs and take over games for us. But Les uses him like a change of pace back.

maybe they could.. oh i don't know... actually PLAY in the games to see how they do?

Let's use a simple example you MIGHT be able to understand. If LSU had a field goal kicker who connected on only 60% of his short field goals, and a backup who consistently connected on only 20% in practice, do you think the coaches should let the backup "actually PLAY" in the games to see how he'd do?

Chief's eyes also tell him that welter is our best option at MLB and Ronald Martin isn't terrible, call me crazy but I'm beginning to question what he's seeing lately

+1

...they play WHO THEY LIKE .. if their puppies lay down when they say to lay down, they are LIKED and played....never more obvious than in our QBs over the years.
