Low on talent combined with a team that is truly poorly coached and whose scheme is subpar AND a coach whose doesn't emphasize defense anyway results in this.

Low on talent
Can't say that when you have better players this year than in years past under Brady or Johnson. I said it earlier, 2009 and 2010 were good examples of winning games with the talent levels we expect

Lsu misses other team gets rebound and go make their shot. Other team misses but gets the rebound and make their shot. Other team makes crucial free throw LSU misses free throw. Not to mention having 8 turnovers in a 6 minute span is crazy.

I haven't followed basketball much in my lifetime
but from what I have read here and on the radio, it sounds as if these players don't even have the motivation or hustle ability to try to even grab a ball if it is going out of bounds in order to save it.
If that's the case that falls back on the coaches and the players reflect the actions of the coach

Of course I can say that. This team is low on talent.

It's multi-layered and I could talk about this all day. Every faucet of their game is lacking...
To put it simply
Johnny Jones is not a good basketball coach.

I know this statement is intended to be an oversimplification (joking) of an otherwise very complicated question. However, I can't help but think that 75% of LSU basketball fans only see what you just said. Our basketball ignorance bleeds from the fans all the way down to the administration. When the elders don't know anything about basketball they usually hire a bad basketball coach.

Dale Brown's legacy is looking better all the time

Johnny Jones the player was a little before my time. One of my older relatives mentioned (around the time he was hired) that he was really fast but played out of control most of the time. He would make some good plays and then have multiple turnovers and bad shots.
At the time, I interpreted that to mean that he wasn't a good team player and didn't fully understand how to 'think' through a game (i.e. make adjustments as your opponent makes adjustments).
Does anyone know if the above is relatively accurate about him as a player. If so, could there be any correlation to him as a coach?

this is absolutely correct. I was at LSU when he played and saw him play many, many games. I've used the exact words to describe his play. So it's dead-on.

Regardless of why, they look like a team destined for defeat every game, who always play terribly in the 2nd half.
Just hope the situation is handled so no one transfers.
