Coach O can't lose 3 games.

I believe that's the measuring stick on whether he stays on

I don't think two guarantees him the job. 7-1 likely does, but two is no guarantee. If we lose to Alabama and Arkansas, and get sloppy wins in the rest of our games, LSU is 8-4 and still disorganized.

I really think the adminstration wants to make a splash with Herman or Jimbo, but you have to give O a shot if he finishes 8-0 or 7-1 with a makeshift staff and a playbook he's likely not crazy about.

Miles didn't win with Miles players, so if O wins with Miles players he would be an upgrade

BUT...BUT...BUT Coach O would be winning with HIS style and philosophy. Geaux Eaux!

Clearly that triggers the yaw yaw claws in his contract.

Does a win over Bama give him the job?

He will be head coach if he only loses 2 more
Fact

Do what? This is dumb. O is not getting the head coaching gig no matter what. That would be absolutely retarded given Herman is within reach. If we strike out with our top 3 then maybe so but otherwise O is nothing more than an assistant. We're not giving in to a coach that is not even wanted

I just want lsu to hire the right Coach for the job. if he runs the table I don't think you have a choice. if he does I would be sooo impressed. if he beats bama and loses 1 I still think he gets the nod. either way this is win win for lsu. im gonna say this though it wouldn't surprise me if he did, that would be the only man that I would think could pull this off. either way I'm rooting for him and LSU. wouldn't mind seeing a crazy Cajun be the next great coach at LSU. I mean if he gets the job done that's all that matters right, but he would need a top flight OC In my opinion

What if this is the 348th same exact thread on this subject? Every 10 minutes another one pops up.

There is a difference, Saban won with Saban players,

Um, not quite. Dinardo brought LSU back to bowls and recruited pretty well, he was very important to getting things back on track in that respect. Saban did better than that with Dinardo's players, and had three years to recruit his own guys before winning the NC.

Coach O is working with players specifically recruited and coached for a power running game. You can't just start running a Texas Tech style offense mid-season, you have to spend a couple of years (minimum) recruiting and coaching players for that kind of game. You can try and get a transfer QB maybe as a stop-gap. Sometimes this works (Mett) sometimes it's meh. But changing an entire team's offensive philosophy mid-season is very unlikely to go well.

That said, when you have a new coach you can blame anything bad on the old one, so there's that.

I'm not saying I agree, I'm just saying the timing of all this is the key.
Coach O is about to give 110 percent thru the bowl game, 4 months!
he will not be replaced
