the problem is weve tried the screens, jennings has trouble, weve tried to hit the te, none of them can hold onto the ball. I really hope we can get the short game going, but not sure how long it will take for these young guys to get it down. Alls i know is if we can get the rbs involved we could have a field day against bama. That was always nicks Achilles' heel at LSU.

Looking off the deep ball and going over the middle will bring the safety's up and boom the deep ball is there.

While true, it was already there because teams just expect us to run.

You are the one complaining dip shite. No one is complaining, god damn. It's called being creative and taking what the defense gives and they will not always give that deep ball up. SO what they are saying is when that is covered can Jenn and LSU make reads and passes over the middle?? Of course I've seen it already just not a whole bunch and the TE missed the ball, also the TD this week to Dural was a nice post route which is what they are talking about. But yes practicing these routes against these teams wouldn't hurt. But your right too they left Dural one on one a lot so Jennings took the shot. I'm sure that's what the coaches are telling him this week though, can't always hit that and to check down to your underneath receivers. We will find out this week?

Screens to RB and 6 to 8 yd crosses to TE and this offense will be trouble.

20 completions, over 300 yards passing, 4 different receivers, zero interceptions/fumbles.
That would be awesome, but I doubt we even throw it 20 times. I would be cool with 13 out of 18 for about 200 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

I agree with increasing the completion percentage of the intermediate and short routes. Perfecting that execution is the difference in this offense being good or great.

They'll end up being fine when we need them. I'd chalk most of that up to first game jitters. They should all catch their stride by the time we get to the meat of our schedule. I had worries about our offense in the offseason but those are gone for the most part. With a little improvement week to week this team could be a great one.

I've been very impressed with Jennings poise and he throws a great deep ball. I would like to see more throws of 10-20 yards including over the middle to complete the package. Harris has a great upside - great fade route to Dupre.

I like what we've seen so far. If we can start hitting intermediate passes consistently this offense is going to be very well-rounded. I'd love to see some play-action with receivers / tight ends crossing behind the LBs.

You have only seen a little of the offensive playbook to date. Be patient you'll see some of what you want to see.

Ok let's forget about long passes for touchdowns and concentrate on short passes to the TE. That it?

You don't get it numnutz and you never will. We WON'T throw a TD every time one of the QBs drops back and throws a long one. We do need to work on our short and intermediate passing game whether you want to admit it or not.
You really think dural can maintain a 45 yard avg. for the entire year?

Jennings will have to make short passes to rb's or tight ends up the road. We are loaded with tight ends, but maybe Les is saving them for the big games.

I want the highest completion % possible, dont care about your arm/arm strength or lack there of. I want completions....Catchable balls thrown to our WR's all the time....Love the Arm of Harris but he's need to work on his touch....Jennings, get a hold of swing pass...RB's will take it from there...

How does he need to work on his touch? He threw a perfect touch pass to Malachi for a touchdown. Do you know football lol?

Not sure if you are serious or not, but that pass to Dupre was no where near perfect, it was on too much of a line, and if it wasnt for the terrific hands and athleticism of Dupre the ball would not have been caught, and fade route should have Height and thrown to the back corner away from the defender...Dupre barely had enough time to adjust to the ball because there was no time to adjust because the ball was poorly thrown....Touch is usually difficult to learn for a Quarterback that throws the ball with a lot of velocity, Much like mett in his first season...Harris and Mett both utilize an elevated elbow in their throwing motion...(They get behind the ball well) creating more velocity and revolutions (Ball spins) per second. (Kind of like a baseball pitcher throwing a heavy baseball, Eep. Josh Beckett) AKA arm Whip. (also more prone to having tommy john surgery in Baseball)

they had to learn how to slow down their arm speed and use more wrist and finger pressure on the end of the throw. Again often difficult for a young QB to learn...Im sure they are working on now and look forward to seeing his progress..

P.S.
I am a offensive Coordinator and QB Coach for a Large high school in TX....I think I know a little bit about football. Am I Gus Malzahn hell no, but we have won a lot of games here...
