Danny Etling.

Dude makes the passes more often than not. Works the pocket pretty nicely. Not the most accurate downfield, but he can get the ball there and he hits the receiver often enough to keep the secondary honest.

Get some help from our freshmen O-linemen and receivers not dropping good passes, and we'll get things clicking. But it's interesting for the QB to not be the problem for the first time in a long time!

Doesn't do too much a freshman couldn't do
especially with that line play

I have to agree.

We went from having shite QB play to having shite coaching. Oh how times have changed.

He didn't play great Saturday, but he didn't play poorly either.

The receivers looked like a huge pile of shite though.

There must be a reason they don't let him throw but like 50% of throws.

But right now he is the peanut in the shite

Danny's play is a symptom of the larger issue, making a change at that position would be a band aid on a bullet wound

He's not a problem? Do you think any defensive coordinators believe they have to scheme to stop him? Danny is a good guy but he's the main reason why the offense is so stagnant.

how is Gage being hit in the facemask a coaching issue?

Or Chark dropping passes?

To be fair, I quit watching and kept drinking after DE hit Gage in the flipping FACE, then the receiver threw the ball down like, "Nah, too easy of a catch, bro."

Or whoever that receiver was.

Danny isn't a guy that's gonna go out and light up most teams or be in the best QB conversation but he's serviceable enough for what we need.

His problem this year is the lack of talent and experience at WR and OL

Uh no. I don't know too many QBs that could be good with that line. The lack of blocking is the problem. Putting in a freshman QB is not going to do anything either other than probably ruin him.

We've had shite coaching for some time now. The biggest difference I see with this team right now is the complete failure of discipline. Etling has been serviceable, unlike some of the complete incompetence we've seen at QB in the past. But the team looked lost and careless overall.

No he's not, got to have a playmaker to win
Only 1 guy on the OL is inexperienced and we've had the OLinmen of the week all 3 weeks of the season

Etling is very mediocre and that is as good as he will get. It is hard for the offense to next the step with him at the helm. Etling is not the guy who will run a dynamic offense and sling it around as everyone on here wants us to do. After watching Etling last year did anyone really think the offense was going to become some great passing attack? The offense does not have the weapons this year to mask Etling's mediocrity.

Sorry to inform you, but we had shite coaching and shite QB play. Etling isn't getting much help from WRs or the O-line. I'm not gonna say we don't have any QB issues just yet because State doesn't have the best D. They just looked really good against our offense.

Not just drops, but also pressure and bad routes made most of the incompletions.

I've been hoping the video with all his attempts in the MSU game would be posted like it usually is because I truly believe he's been wrongly attacked on here, been too busy/lazy to rewatch the whole thing.
