So with all the excuses listed in this thread what makes TS so uniquely terrible though? All of these things are happening to all big time programs but you don't see other stadiums completely empty the entire 4th qtr

Apparently so.

I'd go with 82% fairweather douchers

Electric?
For a game against New Mexico State, yes, I would agree that it was pretty exciting. People were loving the freshman putting on a show. Maybe you were in the Stadium Club and missed it while waiting in line at the buffet. It wasn't Florida '97 electric, but under the circumstances, a lot of fans stayed and were cheering and having a good time.

It's only electric for the big games now. Everything else is bullshite.

Like I have said a million times, LSU football is a social event for most, since the real die hard fans can't afford it anymore. I remember when I was a kid we sat up high in the nosebleed or the south end zone and heard the coon asses swearing and hollering. Those fans can't afford it anymore. Now you have men and women go that are there for the food, booze and to chit chat during the game. They don't get up and holler non stop like the fans used to. They are also the same ones that leave at halftime. Now I am not saying all of them do it, but a lot do it. They are there to socialize, nothing more.

I hate to say it, but they need to change the title from Tiger Stadium to Kitty land. No one left in the seats midway the 3rd. Qt.

You've only been to home games against quality opponents where LSU won or played super close the entire game.
This year, you've only seen crappy rent-a-wins and one SEC game where LSU looked completely noncompetitive in that game until the last 3 minutes.
Gee, Tiger Stadium sure is better in close games against ranked opponants than it is when the team is down 4 TDs or playing the scrubs of the Sunbelt and FCS. No shite.

The only thing that will get rid of the apathy and entitlement is a losing streak. Another Hallman era to get the bandwagoners off, and the fairweathers not to renew their tickets. Prices go down, real fans move into the prime seats.
Then, when the team is good again, the bandwagoners can come back and sit in the upper decks.

quote:I don't even know what this means. We've had tickets since 99 and the only thing different about our seats are the chair backs. Some people come in the 2nd and leave in the third, and I don't get that at all, but it has nothing to do with corporations.
Corporations, a necessity in 2014, have turned stadiums into different places compared to years ago.

Plus, TV coverage has exponentially increased the quality of watching a game at home.

Did I miss anything?
Adding 12,000 seats to a stadium when you could not sell your extra tickets to maybe 2 or 3 games a season.

Last year I took my son to his first game , 10.5 hr drive . He never came out and said it but I don't think he liked it much . At half time 50 plus thousand people left, so we went and sit right behind the bench. This has bn going on for several years. Last year if you get to re watch ark game you will see dural running down side line to score go ahead touch down and you see empty seats all the way in. I wonder how much revenue lsu loses when all these people leave early? I have often wonder if they do this in a show of disatisfied with coach?

In my honest opinion, moving the tailgate experience away from campus by closing lots and charging for parking was the nail in the coffin. Traffic was never as bad as its been in the last two years, and I think this is a direct consequence of doing this.
The other issue is the obsession with taking big games away from Tiger Stadium. The home schedule for the last 4 years hasn't exactly been wonderful. I had a great time in H-Town for the Wisky game, but I'd of much rather had that game in Tiger Stadium.
People want to say its Miles, but plenty of fans left in 2011. Its a different experience than it was even just 5-10 years ago.

Rabalais in The Advocate nailed it over the wkend when he said that LSU is 5 yrs too late in trying to make up with its fan base by making TS a better game day experience. By now, he said, it's a habit for fans to leave early & with future weak schedules in mind, that habit won't change any time soon. Enjoy the bama games, mabe 1-2 others, but what TS used to be is history. Two generations of my family will stop purchasing season tickets after this season & only attend the so-called "big games" from now on; with tickets purchased outside the stadium at a reduced cost. Of course, LSU will sell my tickets in a heartbeat, so they will care less who sits in them from now on.

Costs keep going up from tickets, donations, parking, concessions, etc
More restrictions being placed on the gameday experience
Guy next to me bought the chairbacks and 2 of them are not bolted down, they kept falling off the seat everytime he got up
All the hassle makes the fans say you know what I can just stay home

If tailgates have now been moved away from campus, how is traffic now worse? Wouldn't having cars more spread out make traffic better?
