I am not calling you out... but just curious why Jimbo's bubble screens??

I don't understand what you are asking, but the bubble screen and inside WR screen that we once ran was definitely a feature of Jimbo's offense, and we haven't really ran it since he left.

still cannot get over our run to pass ratio. It was displayed at 66-33 at one point this season. So not only are we running low efficiency pass plays, but we are statistically only running one pass play per two rushing plays. That's insane. No quarterback will can consistently grow in that system.

Except for Harris did grow until bama. Then possibly hampered by a hernia. LSU was having success running the ball, I thought they brought Harris a long just fine. It's when they got to Arkansas LSU went away from what they did all season. Being down early doesn't help either.

Bill Walsh principles have no place in Les and Cam's offense

that slip screen inside to Bowe was almost an automatic TD inside the 10

I recall quite a few WR screens this year, they were all blown up by poor blocking..

Not nearly as much as we ran with Jimbo. I remember the Tenn game in 2006 we ran the inside WR screen to Bowe four or five times, with one ending in a TD and one ending in a fumble. The bubble screen and inside WR screen were two plays we ran really well under Jimbo.

Harris didn't have an int until November. So when we're we running them prior?

When you run the ball 10 times between each pass, and only run go route patterns, it's hard to develop any confidence in your QB.

BHarris's problems aren't all his own. This staff (or system) can't develop a QB, it's as simple as that.

The intermediate passing game is almost non existent in a Cam Cameron offense.

I get why we want to throw the ball vertically, our personnel fits that at the QB and WR position. But when that's not working, you gotta had some of that west coast passing plays in there the keep the chains moving, build confidence, keep defense guessing etc.

I couldnt agree more and the etc. is needed in the above post. Its amazing to me that we have an all time great RB and we cant move the chains with intermediate throws being a part of the offense. The TE is rarely used either which is mind blowing with a back like Fournette back there.
Obviously, LSU doesnt want to throw over the middle, which is somewhat understandable. The Parcells, Jimmy Johnson philosophy, but to not implement some shorter throws that will almost always be open, when the Defense is in certain sets is undefendable. Arkansas pounds away and their TE is running free all over the field several times per game against any defense. It would help Fournette and the OL as well; to plant a few seeds into the LB's and safties of the opposing team vs running into a wall on most 1st downs.

I cant remember when LSU had a wide, I mean wide open medium-short yardage passing play with a WR. Hell, even ULM designed a wide open play against Bama and they couldnt run the ball at all and have far inferior players.

Im puzzled by the OC's play calling, his QB recruiting along with his his lack of developing an intermediate passing game.

Frustrating, I'll leave it at that.

Lindsey Scott can make those throws but they might get tipped at line of scrimmage.

Scott could be next Oregon QB, Adams, similar size.

First of all Harris can make ANY throw on the field. It's a matter of how much time they are emphasizing those type passes, and getting the necessary reps. That is a very quick snap and throw, and takes reps with those receivers. When executed properly, it's very difficult to defend.

I would like to see Harris learn to take something off some of his short to intermediate, and bring the ball down overall. IMO, extremely strong armed guys like that tend to make the overthrows and high throws because of the confidence they have in their arms, but they haven't had the necessary reps in order to be comfortable and get into a rhythm.

We also never stack or bunch the receivers anymore like they did with Odell and Jarvis. Have them right close next to each other.
