What exactly is Met's status?

Being here in Pensacola the info is limited to wwl and TD. I've seen Met called a sophomore, a junior, and a red shirt sophomore.
If he's redshirted I know the rules allow him to play and end the shirt anytime during the season. If he's redshirted and a soph., he has 3 years elligible, so if Lee falters in Dallas, do they want to toss the red shirt in the 1st game?
Also is Steven Rivers redshirted, because if not he may only get a chance to play one year...

He will be redshirted but will likely still dress out and travel with the team this year.

No one knows yet. If he plays, redshirt burned. If not, redshirted.
Gilbert at UT redshirted all of 2009 until Colt McCoy got hurt in the championship game. Redshirt burned for 3 1/2 quarters of an arse kicking.
