"We" won't be in any dugout.
The Tigers, however, will be in either the first base or third base dugout.

NCAA and their shitty "neutral host site" bullshite! The host team (LSU) should be the home team for every game, should choose whatever damned dugout they want, and should be able to use their own damned locker room.

If the other teams think that is unfair, then they can play better throughout the season and earn a host themselves.

Those have always been the rules. They may have flipped a coin and LSu lost it, but on the bright side, LSU will likely be the home team in later games this weekend. The NCAA runs thd venue and not LSU. LSU provides the site.

LSU was in their 1st base dugout for the 1/4 game last season.

The NCAA used to make the home team be in the 3rd baseb dugout but I remember them changing that and now the home team gets to pick.

Correct, from the NCAA manual:
quote:

DUGOUTS AND PERSONNEL
During the pre-championship meeting for the regionals and super regionals, the host institution must designate whether the first or third base dugout will be the home team dugout for the entire tournament.

It's been several years since the NCAA required that it be the third base side.

I stand corrected... however, this still means that if LSU chooses the "home team side" to be the first base side, then when LSU is a visitor they will have to use the other dugout and the other locker room. Still bullshite, if you ask me.

note: Unless they've recently changed those rules as well???

Yes, LSU can use the clubhouse until pregame officially starts.
