No its not. Go look back on the games this season. He has run from the shotgun spread formations too and it didn't work out as well.

With a stacked box it is like low risk high reward deep passes, yes there are 10 of 11 at the line but it also presents a crowded area which has its advantages.

If the line gets off the ball and blocks their assignments causin the d Line to be pushed into the linebackers. Fournette makes 1 guy miss there is no one in the backfield of the defense to tackle him.

Yes we need some change but a whole sale spread offense change is ludicrous with LSU's weapons.

(3 WR, TE, no FB)

This is the answer with the skill position athletes we have. Only time we should see a FB is goal line or short yardage.

All if like to see is a perimeter passing game that will keep teams from putting 10 in the box. We've got LF for one more year. He's going to get the ball. And he should.

But during those times when people stack the box and dare us to throw, we've got to be able to do so. I'm not talking about Harris being the second coming of Rohan Davey. I'm just talking about giving teams pause about selling out to stop LF.

And we've got to get him involved in the passing game. It usually comes with very good results.

Spot on. We have incredibly good power running backs that come to LSU to prepare for an NFL career. They run downhill with power just like the NFL. The spread formation helps the defense against LF, DG, etc. because they get running to the sideline instead of upfield. A solid passing game for 3 - 5 games per year is needed to complement the power backs. The solution is to allow our QBs to develop and start them as Juniors. Manage the QB depth chart and we'll contend.

the one this guy ran. ya know, the one that could hit you with short passes in a 5-wide look (from 11 personnel), run inside zone from the gun, or get in 22 personnel and smack you in the mouth. oh yeah, and run some cool speed option from under center, shotgun, or the pistol.

all Les ever has to do is dust off the old playbook.
