Why do so many of them think Bama will win?

I'll admit they can pass better and their defensive yardage stats are slightly better...but there is nothing else that gives Bama an edge.
Our special teams are obviously better, we make more big plays on returns, our turnover margin is off the charts, we beat them at home and our resume' of wins is considerably better...not to mention we are SEC champs and the only thing Bama has accomplished this year is to whine their way into a re-match.

I believe it is the pundits who have an over-blown respect for Saban and still some residual dis-respect for Miles...there has been nothing that has happened on the field to justify believing Bama will win...

Bama is god to ESPN. Everyone else is irrelevant to them.

They DON'T see a JL or JJ on the field. And I think that up until a few weeks ago, the Coach CLM and his staff were viewed as not as good or better than Saban and staff. Bama got their thugs in check. LSU don't

A very good team with good coaching from the best conference - also widely known name/program, likely 4 1st round picks this April.

The game's a toss up.

It is not just ESPN analysts who think Bama will win...

I just don't know what they are basing their opinions on... I don't believe every journalist has an agenda or edict from their mysterious boss...they are basing it on something...and I just don't see what they do...

This concerns the bambi fan base. The bama team itself is a different mindset.

Bama is god to bama. They hate anybody that beats them. They will hate us even more Jan 10. Right now they not only hate us, but they are also scared as shite.

We don't care if they are scared of us or hate us or whatever. We're going to beat their god to a pulp on Jan 9.

just as good on D, (seemingly) more balanced and consistent on O. and most still like Saban more than Miles I'd imagine.

They see a very good, consistent, no frills, football team. They don't do a lot, but the things they do, they do them well. And I agree with your wording in that they have an 'overblown respect' for Saban.

what they don't see in LSU is the level of consistency. I'm not saying it isn't there, I'm just saying it isn't as obvious...likely because LSU is capable doing so much more. We can show more looks on offense and do many different things. BAMA, can do one thing- give the ball to Richardson and throw 10 passes per game.

They also do not see the hidden yardage in lsu's stats. Our defense gives us a short field many times, so less yardage shows up in the stats. They don't see the hiddee yardage that B Wing gives us in the punting game.

LSU is a more deceptive team, while BAMA is in your face. You know what they're gonna do and you know they're gonna do it well.

TV ratings. Bubble of invincibility which we expose on a routine basis.

As long as Saban is at bama, they will be overhyped and put on a pedestal in every possible way.

Yeah. A toss up. You got it.

CLM out $$$$$'D $$$$$ last time. CLM owns this dude now. It went to OT in their house and they couldn't beat a team who couldn't score a touchdown on them. They dont belong in this game slightly more than OK State, because no one belongs in this game except us.

As far as the OP, what the experts see in Bama is ratings. ESPN cares about sports as much as Fox cares about politics. They dont, they care about numbers.

frick these people. We dont need them, we're LSU.

RATINGS! That is all.

The media is going to ramp up this game and talk about how great Alabama is, how much better they are than LSU, and how incredible Nick Saban is as a HC. They are doing this in case something bad happens and LSU actually beats them this time, cause we all know the last time did not count. They need to be able to sell the idea that a rematch was a good idea since Bama is the better team anyways.

Their defensive stats are due to a much weaker schedule than LSU's. If you take LSU off of their schedule they played a very weak schedule which has artificially inflated their defensive stats.

They have passed the ball better than us, but duh, hasn't everyone? Besides, when you can run the ball like us why pass it. Defense, running the ball well, and great special teams wins a lot of games as Miles has proven.

Geaux Tigers!

call me crazy, but maybe... just maybe, it has to do with Bama losing the first game by a 3 in OT after missing several FGs and Eric Reid making one of the greatest INTs ever at the one freaking yard line.

the first game was a toss up, the BCSCG will be a toss up. get a fricking grip.

It really is this simple. I can't believe how unobjective our fan base is this year.

The worship of Saban by the media is a little sickening. The "experts" were sure we were going to lose our opener, get owned in Tuscaloosa, get caught sleeping in BR after Thanksgiving, and finally get beat by the red hot GA team in the SEC championship. Unfortunately for the geniuses we beat all of them except for Bama by 30+ and they are having a hard time dealing with being wrong the first 13 weeks of the season, just sad. They forget that we played in front of a hostile home crowd at Alabama, that we played more games against far better opponents this year and beat them all(hence their defensive numbers are slightly better-their schedule was shorter and easier), and we are the better team.

What would have been Alabamas stats if they had played LSU's schedule?
