I watched all year but was a freshman in college, so my memory is a bit...off. Many have said the current system is the one Miles has always ran. Is this true?

Yeah. ESPN shows we were 9th overall in total offense. I cant even imagine that now.

Just the usual ball control style offense just like Crowton did for Saban and Saban still did before he changed to a more modern offense under Kiffin. Flynn managed the game, made no mistakes and passed when he had to and used his feet when he had to.

The TE was def used back then because it was a continuation of a Saban/Crowton offense and Saban loved to use TE's and still does at Alabama.

If It was today LSU would have lost the game to Ohio State in the NC game. No way we win that with Mile's offense.

It's like the man has somehow regressed due to recruiting good-great runningbacks

Truly astounding

Depends on what you mean by "system"

Under Miles, LSU has always placed an emphasis on a solid running game (see Hester, Scott, and Williams in '07).

But in no way would I say the current offensive game plans even resemble those from '05 through '08.

There was a much higher level of trust in the QB to throw in any situation regardless of down and distance. Much more shotgun and spreading of the field.

Wizard gave us the most exciting offense ever at LSU. And Les allowed him to run it. Watch some of those plays, the formations and deceptions. Great offense.

My god

It's amazing that his philosophy changed so drastically. I don't understand what changed things.

I'm not sure if anyone has said it, but I've stated multiple times on here that Lee's pic-six palooza mind fricked les into an oblivion

The defense lost both those games. Pelini led defense gave up tons of yardage and points. Dude didn't believe in blitzing either.
