Welter is now your most hated player isn't he

I don't see how he gets playing time. Slow and can't shed a block.

In the UF game, Welter had a direct line to the QB rolling out behind the line... Murphy just ran around him so effortlessly, not even at full speed, while Welter chased him up the sideline as Murphy got about 6 yards on the play. I am not one to dog on any player, and I am not here.... It's just easy to spot how physically overmatched he is when on the field.

Obviously no one else is good enough. Lamar has looked worse. Even kwon looked bad against uf. Only option I see is beckwith. He's a true frosh so hell come around.

Welter is in the top 20 in tackles in the sec. Lots of assists though.

because teams are running right at him, and then he get contact after 6 yards, then gets carried another 5 yards till someone helps him make the tackle

I haven't seen this kind of linebacker hate since Thomas Dunson.

So the coaches are willing to shake up the secondary, but not the linebackers? So you guys think Raymond is the better coach? No its because the younger guys aren't better. If they were, they would play.

This was from a previous post I had on Welter. We miss Minter. We go from an average of 10 tackles a game and over 4 solo tackles a game at middle linebacker to an average of around 5 tackles and 1.5 solos a game. Minter finished with 55 solos last year. Welter is on pace for just over 20 solos on the year. Welter is a middle linebacker. A middle linebacker should rack up tackles. Welter is literally half the player Kevin Minter was.

Move down to third in tackles on the team?
The ignorance in this thread is amazing...he is second on the team in tackles...is he great? No. Do we have better on the team? No.
Is he responsible every time a RB gets five yards and he makes the tackle? No.
Have any of you asked yourself why he has trouble shedding blocks? It's because he is always being blocked. The defensive line has not been getting penetration and the opposition's O line is moving to the second level of our defense.
Didn't he look better against Florida? (some of you lemmings posted that in other threads) It was because our DLine played much better, got penetration and occupied blockers freeing up the LBs.

He is the second leading tackler on the team dipstick! We don't need a thread everyday bashing one of our own players!

welter bashing is obligatory. he has been annointed as the goat and the sole reason our defense struggles. i've seen posts zinging him on plays that he wasn't even playing. some of these genius's know more drunk and w/o ever having seen pracice or game quality film than the chief.

what gets me is that they are so confident in their player assessments.

He's a 20 year old kid that is playing to the best of his ability. I agreee he has been struggling but stop bashing him. He actually looked pretty good against UF.

Some would-be fans should go back to being a Southern fan...that's where their heart is...if they have one at all!
