He pays $10 million/year to the Academic side. They didn't give him a Vice Chancellor title for no reason. I hope you don't think he makes decisions by himself though when it comes to hiring and firing the most important coach in his Department.

What do you mean? If Alleva does nothing and LSU under achieves next year, people would be bitching for Alleva to grow a pair and get rid of Miles. I see nothing wrong with what Alleva is doing. He seeing the product slipping and is doing what he feels necessary to keep the product at a high level. He's sort damned if he does something and damned if he does nothing. I, for one, feel that Alleva is hitching his legacy to Jimbo. I also don't think Jimbo is making an easy decision either. I'd imagine it would be much easier for him to reach the playoffs and a possible NC by coaching FSU than to have to coach LSU and go through Bama every year.
