Nolan Cain worries me given the recruiting coordinator title. I don't care how much people sell the "LSU recruits itself", coaches grow as time passes networking, player evaluating
Right, neither of them deserve shite because if we're supposed to be the premier program in college baseball, as many of our fans would have you believe, we aren't the place to allow people to cut their teeth on new jobs.
And before anyone brings up Cannizaro, MLB scouts are essentially college recruiters, so he had necessary experience before taking the job.

Lange, Poche, Peterson in my opinion.
I honestly thought that Bain would develop into a solid starter.

I can't decide if I'm going to temper my expectations with Andy leaving us before the season.
It's at least reassuring that Skip thinks highly of the new hires, but those complements could be baseless and out of courtesy

2009, 2015
I was waiting for you to list these.
2009 comes close, 2015 just...no.

Your only argument over 2015 is catcher. That's it. Bregman. KRob. Hale. Stevenson. Fraley. Laird. All even if not better than what we currently have. At all of those positions. And Pap and Deichmann were both on that team too.

i agree with Ell about 2009, but I'm not sure what made 2015 so athletic
Posted on 12/8/16 at 11:05 am to tigerbait2010
I didn't say it was "so athletic". I just think it's just more athletic than this team. Romero =Sciv. The fastest OF we've ever had. And bregman.

A lot of those guys on the 2015 roster were freshmen and a little star struck when they got to TD Ameritrade.
What role, if any, do the Jordan twins have this year? They seem to do everything "ok" but don't excel at anything to justify plugging into line-up.
No concerns with Duplantis' arm strength in CF?

2015 had the most athletic outfield maybe ever and I'm agreeing with that point. However besides Bregman and Foster there weren't guys who gave you hardly anything on the base paths. To compare Deichmann and Papierski from 2015 and 2017 is mind boggling both had 50 at bats combined as a freshman. Adding to that Robertson stole 1 base in 2015.

Are you saying deichmann wasn't as fast or threw as hard in 2015? Learning to hit CBs isn't an athletic trait. Same question for Pap.

No, he's moving the goal posts from total collection of talent on the roster to "only the players that contributed in that year because that supports my argument."

Deichmann suffered a stress fracture week 3 of spring practice in 2015. He didn't hardly see the field after...why are you comparing his speed when he was hurt in 2015 to a healthy Greg Deichmann in 2017?
Papierski has always been a below average runner. So was Ty Ross, so was Kade Scivique. I am not using him as an example and never did to set any of these teams apart...

What goalpost am I moving? Let's talk about the 9 that started in 2015 vs what will be projected to start in 2017.
To use Greg Deichmann as an example of how athletic the 2015 team is laughable.

I'm reserving judgement until the first coach's committee meeting

SEC tourney still in Freakin' Bama.

It was in 2015 that Lester was blowing his load over deichmann because he had the fastest 60 on the team, Adam.

You want to compare the most athletic OF we've ever had. Then foster + bregman to KRob + Freeman. Hale vs Adams. Zardon vs a freshman with NO playing time (so I guess we have nothing to gauge them on?) and Romero vs Sciv. Give me 2015.
