What? Miles has won more than your HC in a harder division in a harder conf.

Many experts would disagree with each other as well.

QB

If he hadn't missed last year, then it would be for sure, but Mett was putting it all together at the end of last season. TCU has great CB's, but Mett passed all over Dee Milliner, Darius Slay, and Johnathon Banks. Three of the best CB's in the country.

Now he has one of the best QB's coaches from the NFL. I still give Pachall an edge, but it's a small edge. Mett seems more motivated than ever before. Pachall could be back to full form, but he could also crack under the pressure of what happened last season and having his first game against our secondary.

No matter what experts think. Miles still has done more than Patterson. His winning percentage is better since starting at LSU and he's won more big games. He does have more talent, but it evens out since TCU doesn't play in the SEC.

The LSU defensive speed in that dome will be just frightening...Paschall will be lucky to survive the first half.

Mettenberger will probably have to make 4-5 legit 15-25 yd passes in the first half to loosen up what will undoubtedly be 8 man fronts....if he does this, LSU will be up by 17 going into halftime...

So to summarize, TCU's weaknesses are lack of experience and talent on the o-line and lack of speed in the defensive backfield...

Per Ivan Drago to the TCU team, "I must break you!"

I'm thinking we win this game 21-24 pts. I think our "O" is gonna shock some folks. The D will be on their QB all night.

Mett not considered one of the best even in the SEC

Pachall being considered high draft stock and potentially one of the best college QB's in the country even after a year off.

how will it turn out? who knows

CLM has a very impressive resume, one which many are/were willing to contribute to NS to the point that there are still LSU fans that would gladly kick Miles to the curb this very second and certainly will be screaming for the same if LSU stumbles this year. Personally one feel he is one hell of a HC that has not always had the best coordinators. He has succeeded with massive athlete and other intangible advantages over GP but has done so in a tougher conference.

CGP is not only a well respected HC but undeniably is the master mind behind the continued defensive performances of TCU having finished #1 or 2 in the nation defensively several years. He has had nothing handed to him other than a floundering team and quickly resurrected that team to perennial conference champs with the limitations that playing in the MWC brings. To his credit he has consistently scheduled OOC teams from BCS conferences and has beaten his share of them. He busted the BCS and won the Rose bowl with the same 1-3 star players that Miles passes over. GP was not awarded the Coach of the year award for his good looks or soft spoken demeanor(he has neither). He earned that title. Patterson, with the exception of the recent media issues has never been the butt of recurrent national sports media jokes. He has never been embarrassed by blunders that were so preventable that fans could see them coming and could only shake their heads at afterward. Patterson may have been coaching in a lower level conference with walk on players and unsought after recruits but he has done more with less than CLM.

Vastly better than CLM no, but it appears the national media would give Gary the thumbs up.

TCU has not recruited on LSU's level...depth wins out over four quarters. Miles has great assistants, he's more a CEO. Smart people surround themselves with people as good or better than they are.

look, GP is a very good coach and noone disagrees with that. he and LM coach in different arenas. y'all have only been in a major conference one year and the results were pretty mediocre. to compare the two and say GP is a better coach is bull shite. the media has made a lot of miles on field decision mistakes but i have seen spurrier and yes, even the great saban make similar mistakes. those guys are in teh national spotlight and have been for a long time. GP just got there. we'll see how he holds up. in other words, the jury is still out on GP being a first tier HC in college football no matter what you or these "experts" say. there is a huge tendency in sports to fall in love with the guy doing great even though they have been playing inferier competition; sure they have won some big games but they don't compete at the top every single week.
