I mean she was holding Mulkey back when she got ejected.
I don't see this as a show that "we are tight". Not saying they aren't. Just saying that doesn't mean a thing.

Angel sees herself on a national scale with advertisers and doesn't care for the college life. I think she needs to come back to toughen up and getting a jump shot before moving on to the WNBA, believe she will get pushed all over the place

I would have said before season she would return, but after the suspension and Poole being kicked off the team I think she goes. I think her relationship with Mulkey was strained at that point and I don’t know that it can be fixed.

Have you not been paying any attention at all? You must have read some of Guilbeau's crap and stay on Twitter too much. There is NOTHING wrong with their relationship, and Angel has made a point to say so several times.

I think it’s entirely dependent on what they do in the tournament.

I still think College WBB makes the stars more money than a 'pro' career. WNBA gets no eyeballs, thus gets no endorsement money. Right now, College ball is in a golden era of popularity, thus the NIL money for the stars eclipses anything they could make going 'pro'.

I think she'll be at LSU as long as the rules permit her.

I hope I’m wrong but I think 80 she goes & 20 she comes back.

My gut feeling is the exact opposite.
80% she returns
20% she goes pro

WNBA top 4 picks (year 1,2,3,4)
average salary 75K - 95K annually through the 4 years
LSU NIL with Angel is around 3M - 4M
That's a hell of a paycut

Just a my opinion:
Saban would use the media as another avenue to indirectly communicate to his players. Likely, CKM is doing the same thing - especially mentioning it 3 times in one press conference.

1. Maybe Angel is not 100% sure on what she is going to do.
2. Positively,if Kim knew 100%, it would help her with planning, prioritizing needs and wants regarding recruiting.
3.. IF, she is going to the WNBA, CKM (via pressers and one-on-one convos) wants to only remind her that, "hey, you only have a handful of games left in your college career - lets get the most out of those games. These remaining games are going to be the most memorable and best times of your life!"

ETA: Another important and HUGE factor
that comes into play causing the uncertainty of returning is the likelihood of which team has an early enough draft pick to select Reese. I think, right now, that team is Washington (1st round 6th pick overall). That's only 45 min from Angels hometown, Baltimore, Maryland.

While this is true, I think she's reached a level of celebrity where she can make money simply by being an influencer. Have you seen the celebrities that follow her on Twitter. In the world we live In, she's transcended basketball. While I agree that college basketball gets much more eyeballs than the WNBA, it wouldn't surprise me if she never plays basketball again after she leaves and that could be after this year despite her having another season of eligibility.

I'm not saying she doesn't love basketball and doesn't want to continue her career in the WNBA--she may have a 10-year career there, I just think she's at the point where she can live the life of a social media influencer whether she's playing or not. She got famous playing basketball, but she can continue being another person who's famous just for being famous.

And even though she might be projected to be the #6 pick in the WNBA draft, don't very few draft picks even wind up making rosters at all? I don't know where the cutoff is, but I seem to remember one recent year where like only 2 or 3 picks made a roster. I could mis-remembering and it could be more, and Angel may be more likely then others because of her celebrity being good for whatever team drafts her. But she's likely to be able to earn more money as an influencer traveling the world and posting bikini pics on tropical islands than she is playing a random Tuesday night night in Detroit in front of 1,000 people in the stands with about the same number watching on tv. It's a brand new world we live in whether we like it or not, and she's already set up to take advantage of it, with or without basketball.

WNBA has Angel projected 7th overall.
Washington is the 6th pick overall and 45 min from Maryland.
^^^^^ has a lot to do with all of it. IMO, even if Angel was the top 1 or 2 pick - it's not going to be a substantial increase in pay. Being 45 min from home, trumps everything - I get it.

That makes a lot of sense too

I think Reese and Van Lith will both be back. Reese is making plenty NIL money and Van Lith will sign another farewell NIL deal for next year. They all staying.

I have said repeatedly that NCAA Women's basketball is the one sport where solid NIL can keep the players in college because they can make more here than in the WNBA. I think the odds are very good personally.

Believe it or not, There was internal rumblings Reese may come back and strictly focus on basketball and her development this offseason (mid range/ post footwork)

HVL I heard is likely gone. If she did declare she would have to play overseas, maybe she is okay with that.

Kim has repeatedly made these comments to get fans out to the PMAC in addition she obviously has to plan for the worst case scenario of losing her players if it did happen. She has planned like that since this year started
