re: What are chances of finding LSU-UF tickets outside stadium?

I recall the LSU-Bama game at Tiger Stadium in '87 (?) was one game that my friends were not actually able to buy tickets for outside the stadium. They went to a sportsbar.
Of course, LSU has added 15K seats since then. So, I don't if that scenario will ever happen again.

Me to. When I was young, when my dad would take me to a game, buying tickets outside of the stadium was the only way we could get in. Those scalper used to piss me off.
Some of my inner childhood anger came out and and threw a cup full of coke at one of them as we drove by him two years ago.

i have never paid more than face value for a ticket at the stadium, and rarely had to pay that much.
raise your two fingers until an old couple comes by with extra, ask them if they will sell for face value, and you will have no problem.
i would start looking around 5 or even earlier.

you will find some
look pitiful or bring a kid with you, there are always older tiger fans looking to sell tickets for cheap to people with kids, I was always used as ticket bait by my dad

I go to one or two games a year and buy my tickets before the games. The only game that was impossible to find one-although being there 3 hours before the game, was USC 79'. There must have been a couple thousand people trying to buy tickets. I'm still pissed at myself for not buying that one earlier. Tried through the first quarter, still none and the crowd inside was going crazy, damnit, damnit.

I live 4 hours away and don't get to go to that many games so $150.00 a tic would be reasonable to me for a game like this
I used to buy them outside the stadium all the time. I have always found tickets for sale, but the bigger the game the tougher it is to find what you want and the more you'll pay. Typically you can get them for below face value. However, you also run the risk of not being able to sit together with your friends. How many do you need?
For a game like Florida you might prefer to pay more online (try the ticket exchange board) knowing you've got tickets in hand.

Believe it or not, there's still a few fans who don't care about making money off others and will sell at face value. I bought 2 tickets outside the stadium before the Georgia game last year. If you fail to get tickets, enjoy the tail gating and watch the game on TV with someone who will let you join them. Be persistent and you'll probably find tickets at face value

The chances of finding one are 100%. The chances of it being for face value is right around 0, though.
Carl is correct.

Same here.

I can say without a doubt you will be able to find thousands of tickets outside the stadium before the game. Purchasing same will be an entirely different matter.

as long as your name is not rosenthal, you will be fine

Except for my student years and a few years of season tickets, I've been getting tickets outside the stadium since the 70's. Never payed over face value and have never NOT found a ticket, even for Big games.......

I started buying tickets outside the stadium in the mid 70s. Since then, that's the only way I ever go to games. I have been to some of the biggest ganes in Tiger Stadium history & have never failed to find tickets at or very close to face value. Sometimes I've had to sweat it out & finally get tiokets 10 minutes before kickoff but I've probably been to 50+ games with no tickets when I arrived at the stadium.

I have done this many times for many years. Tickets are always available. The last great Florida win cost 150 at the gate.

The key issue here is the # of tickets. If all you need is a single (FOR a BIG GAME) then chances of you finding a face value ticket is pretty high.
If you need multiple tickets together (FOR A BIG GAME) then the odds are really NOT in your favor for getting a face value ticket but you will be able to get some just will have to pay 4 high $$ for them.
Another suggestion is to hang around some of the really rowdy tailgate parties and inevitably a few of the highly intoxicated folks (or their less intoxicated friends) will gladly sell you there tickets for a very reasonable price.

1 ticket - possible, two, iffy...for a price, three or more - have a heavy arse wallet. Big dollar people will pay for 3 plus togehter. Two years ago, 4 tickets to the UF game got my friend a grand. It basically paid for half of his season ticket costs. He went home happy and 4 fat cats strutted into the game to watch a great game. In short, everyone was happy.
