I know of four in a row that went for less than 3 yards in the first quarter Saturday night.

This is what kills me...I remember being at the Wisconsin game and scratching my head that we continued to run the ball when we were having so little success. Had the same feeling on Saturday. Bag on Miles all you want, but I don't remember that offense being this stubborn in the past.

Dude's ego is so fricking big it's disgusting. It's a dick measuring contest to him.

Miles has been trying to recreate 9-6 for a really long time. He truly believes that his defense and special teams will win the games for him as long as the offense doesn't turn the ball over.

For Miss. St, runs that were designed runs to RB:
3,2
2,0,1,-1
20,2,3
9,6,8
3,2
1
2
4
2,6,1
I count 14/20 as being 3 yards or less, which is 70%.
The ironic part is that on the drive where the runs were 9,6,and 8 (i would say these are successful runs off of which to build), and also Jennings had a 6 yard run in there....2 first downs were secured on 4 straight runs. So on 1st and 10 after 4 straight good runs, what happened? 3 straight passes....one for 3 yards to Dural, then two incompletes. So when the running game finally opened up a little, they passed. Go figure.

100% of our rushes went for less than 3 yards per play on average against State. Per attempt, Jennings threw for less than 6 yards.
These statistics will get you beat against any team at any level in America.

I think the stats bear out that against good competition, 65% of the time our running backs gain 3 yards or less 100% of the time...

Great...so, do you think this evidence will spark change in our offensive strategies moving forward?

No sir, I do not. I don't advocate a total overhaul....but at least SOME tweaks need to be made just to un-clog the middle.

Can you PLEASE let me have a sliver of hope?!?

The only good speed I've seen from Fournette was one of those kick off returns when he didn't wait for his blocking and just gunned it
Posted on 9/22/14 at 12:51 pm to SabiDojo
just saying...i want him to reach his potential also

I just want to say that my best friend got me a ticket to the game, CLUB SUITE. It was amazing. Free food, the alcohol was great, everything......everything BUT the game.

Last 3 games:
Kenny Hilliard - 9 carries/30 yards, 12 carries/50 yards, 11 carries/55 yards
Leonard Fournette - 7 carries/38 yards, 10 carries/52 yards, 13 carries/92 yards
Through 3 quarters of the Wisconsin game, Fournette had more yards on less carries than Hilliard.
Put #7 in and leave him in.

TM averaged 7.3 YPC last year, now what is he, I'm guessing 3.5 YPC behind basically the same blockers(OL,TEs,FBs) as last year. You know all the Seniors and Juniors, the most veteran groups on the field. Hilliard has looked better but has about the same YPC he had last year. LF is perhaps not as good as anticipated but looks like the best back to me and DW has done well also.
I've said before my wife is a VA Tech fan, and they couldn't run well last year either. Why did Gus not retain Grimes? He was the line coach under Gus as OC at AU. I think we are finding out.

This. Fournette should be getting 20 carries a freaking game.

but we have played 4 games...why leave out the wisconsin game
LF hasn't lived up to the hype...sorry that is the truth. Doesn't break tackles or make people miss.
