I was mostly intrigued by the fact that we've played so few times in BDS given the long history of this series. It is also interesting that we have a winning record there given how Bama has historically dominated this series, but when you realize that we didn't start playing there regularly until 1988, it makes sense since we had the good run in the late 80s and of course the great run since 2000. We've still only lost once there since 2000 when Bama benefitted from the infamous non-interception by PP7.

Yeah, I think I read that LSU and Southern Miss are the only two teams that played at all four Bama home sites (back when they used to play at other places too).

It's a very strange series when it comes to the home field advantage. It's basically been the opposite. And yes, it would have been really interesting if PP7 would've been given the INT back in 2009. If JJ and Scott wouldn't have got knocked out of the game, LSU would have been tough to beat with the way they looked in that game (LSU was tough even with the injuries).

DiNardo would have won in Alabama if not for Booty trying to be a hero.

I know there have been other threads about the home team in this series, but I wanted to get more specific as so much of our series has been played away from Tuscaloosa. Along with all the games at Legion Field in the 60s, 70s and 80s, there have also been several games in Montgomery and Mobile. After BDS opened in 1929, we played Alabama 14 times in Birmingham, Mobile and Montgomery, going 4-10-1 in those games (yikes!).

WHy all the screwy locations?

Was it 1958 in Mobile when the Stands Fell? LSU won that game.

Yeah, the original poster just posted some well researched info. without any of the typical BS we see on here and Bama fans still jump in (it was only a few though, so I'll give them points for that). I've also noticed that the 9-6 thing still bothers a number of Bama fans. You'd think given what happened in the rematch would completely erase and troubles caused by that. Yet, you can still see "y'all didn't beat us, we beat ourselves...didn't have a kicker..." pretty regularly.

LSU has won 5 of the last 6 in BDS. That's not a stat, it's a trend.

Ya I'm glad my son is only 3 and by the time he gets into following it, GUMPS won't be nearly as obnoxious! When I briefly lived in T-town a gump told me that Bama never loses and if they do there is an excuse behind it. I didn't realize their arrogance bc I grew up around some really nice Bama fans. That gump was so right, them whiney bitches have an excuse for everything! Buck Fama!!!
