It's hot out there.

quote:

-During individual drills, Sam Montgomery walked off the field under trainer supervision. I stood close enough to hear most of their conversation. Montgomerysaid it most mostly just scary because he got lightheaded. It was nothing more than a brief bout with the heat. Trainers told him to drink plenty of water and let them know if he had other symptoms. He rejoined his teammates at took reps with the first DL.

The RBs were working to block a blitzing LB from getting to the dummy QB. The LBs absolutely owned this drill and Frank Wilson was not happy at all.

This does not sound good for the QB's.

Eh, I certainly don't want LBs getting to our QB, but I think we're going to have a hell of a LB corps this year, so I'm not worried.

Not to mention, blitz pickup for running backs is extremely hard to do one-on-one because they have to stay controlled and set their feet while linebackers can go full speed and be as aggressive as they want.

When the running backs practice this with the offensive line, it's a lot easier and more of a timing issue.

opposing qbs maybe. lb is the only position on def that i dont feel great about. if they are able to step up and play quality ball, i fear for all of our schedule.

Next time please put all is well before the quote.
Halfway through I was about to cry. Then it was okay. In the words of the great Mitch Hedberg, "I need to read faster!!!"

Sounds good for Ford and Blue, not so much for Ware or Stampley

Maybe they are just better blocking backs? Not every RB is good at blocking, catching, or what have you.

RBs will do better with the OL in place.
If Sam is tired, they are working hard at practice - I like it.

So Kelvin Sheppard played all three LB positions simultaneously last year? because he's the only one we lost.

Well, this whole article brings me to a Saban versus Miles comparison. Id like to first state that I like Miles better than Saban, but in all of Saban's analness -- is a strict regime on diet and hydration that he enforces on the players. LSU players can go through all the training they want, nobody is stopping them from going to mcdonalds every day -- and some of them do.
