Option 2: "You're an arse for getting married on an LSU game, I'm playing my man card"

I know how you feel because I am in the same situation. My uncle is getting married on Nov. 7th which is LSU/Alabama. I suspect that he set it for this date on purpose because he is a tiger hater.

My best friend is expecting his first kid the day of the LSU/Washington game. He says he will be pissed if I am not there for the birth of his first child. I said, "This game has been planned for almost three years, your kid was not really planned at all. Plus I have not been back home in over three years." He laughed and called me an a-hole. Geaux Tigers!!!!

How did I know I would never leave my wife? We were married 10/19/02, the same day as an LSU / South Carolina away game. We got married at 1:00pm, had the reception, were out of there by 5:30pm, and back in our apartment with enough time to knock one out ( ) and sit down to watch the kickoff.

My wife's cousin is getting married that same day...both the bride and groom are Tulane fans so I don't blame them for doing it.

However, I'm sending my wife and daughter to the wedding...my son and I will be attending the game.

I know someone who planned an "open date" wedding. However, they even had the foresight to plan it for a Friday night should something crazy happen. A hurricane happened. Open Date got filled. Wedding on Friday night, LSU game the next day.

I established my LSU football priority with my family and friends a long time ago. They all know to check a calendar if they want me to attend (whatever the function might be). There's no debate or argument or hurt feelings. It just is what it is. My mom called me last year to give me the date of my cousin's engagement party. It happened to be the same date as the LSU-Appy State game. I said, "Mom, that's the home opener for LSU. If that's the date you know I won't be there." She called me back an hour later to give me the NEW date of the party, it was a week earlier. I guess they wanted me there.

why exactly did she have any say as to when you could get married.

i have a friend getting married this fall. they are looking at oct 3rd. we are at georgia. i told him i could deal with that, as long as i can watch the game.

but he was calling to make sure i would be ok with it.

My cousin got married in 2001 i think whatever year 9/11 happened. Ended up getting married during the AU game that had been moved, all cool though huge big screen at the reception that everyone watched, great reception.

My friend is married Nov. 7. It's the day we play at Bama. The wedding is at 7 so it all depends on what time the game is as to whether or not I go to the wedding.

Because she was paying for the thing. She did it because she knew how much passion I have for LSU football and she is spiteful Greek woman.
