We will be getting a better MBB coach soon, and it won’t be the Pear King.

McMahon will not last long. If this team doesn’t drastically improve I’d say he’s gone after this year. This whole “we can’t afford to fire him so we’re stuck for 3 years” thing is bullshite. We can, and we will, buyout be damned.

When the time comes, how many of you will still be pissed if it’s not Will Wade? Because no chance in hell it will be. If, hypothetically, Woodward was able to get Scott Drew, do we still melt because he’s not Wade? I’m starting to think we could hire Phil Jackson and we’ll still have daily threads pining over him.

Does it have to be Wade or do we only still melt about him being gone because we haven’t won without him yet? If all it takes is another winner to finally get over him, we’ll have one soon, and the crying can finally stop.

ETA: tigerbait2010 has a better thread more or less about the same thing. Admins can crush this one.

I don't think he is getting fired until they know the path forward. We aren't going to spend $12 million to get to another mid-major coach. Who is out there that would make sense?

Youre clearly not a bright man. LSU gave him a 7 year conract with a heavy buy out. Hes not getting fired this year, no matter how bad we are

Yeah LSU has a long, sad history of being handcuffed by buyouts /S

ETA: check your spelling and punctuation, your brightness.

You never know, this team might surprise us and be even worse than last season. Like zero conference wins bad. That could change the calculus.

You people are the worst. The basketball program is shambles so let’s start as many Wade threads as we can to distract from the McSuck.

You ain't getting BK to leave ND without the buyout. It's just the price of doing business when trying to woo an elite coach.

Mcmahon on the other hand, I can't defend Woodward. He should have stood pat with Wade, and we'd be ROLLING in basketball, with football taking off like it is now with BK.

The problem is the same people who wanted Wade gone, and who hired MM will still be in charge of hiring a new coach.

People mention that Kelly only had 37 scholarship players when he was hired. McMahon had ZERO! Yes, ZERO. Thankfully he was able to convince some to comeback and was able to bring some guys from Murray St or we would not have even been able to put a team on the Court. Yes, we suck Horribly. I went watch against North Florida. It is even worse in person. Have to give the guy a shot. next year you will have Chest, Miller, Givens, and Cook ready to play. Those 4 alone should significantly raise the talent level and great improve the this team/program. Suck It Up, Be Patient, and Accept the Reality that for this year we will once again SUCK. But, there is hope for the future.

The most accomplished coach we’ve ever hired at the time of his hiring was Trent Johnson. Think about that, the admin doesn’t care about basketball.

Mbb is a yearly lineup change sport. The excuses about total rebuild apply to every team each year. The fact that McMahon has not recruited properly and built a team that plays winning basketball is all on him and Woodward.

Look what Wade is doing at McNeese under more strict limitations than LSU is under. I wouldn't be surprised if McNeese would whip LSU this year. That is sad for me as a LSU fan.

BTW, I do think LSU should have stuck with Wade. If they weren't going to do that, they should have hired the best interim coach they could get for 2 or 3 years to allow the NCAA to get off it's arse.

Now we are stuck with McMoron and his big buyout.

Some people on here will never be able to get over Will Wade. They, literally, can't let it go.

LOL. If you think coaching was the problem last night you know nothing about basketball. Tigers fought well in first half and were killing it on offensive boards and defense. But they only had 4 points off 13 offensive rebounds. 11% from 3 was the problem and that ain't coaching. If they just shoot 30% from 3 they probably have a 10-13 point lead at the half. Instead they were losing. Combine that with no legitimate PG and that was the difference in the game. Syracuse had a seasoned talented PG that changed the game. MM will have that player next year with #4 PG in the country if he doesn't get Cook eligible. Missed shots, turnovers and no PG play. Even Ward couldn't hit the ocean and he has been consistent first part of the season.Baker disappeared. he is soft and can't handle taller competition. Need R

I mean this is easily the answer. No one would be worried if we were winning games.

They fired Wade who, despite what the woodtards say, Had this basketball program in a really good spot. Because they thought he was going to get a severe penalty and never coach again, and here he is two hours down the road with a team in Lake Charles that is higher ranked than LSU on Kenpom(Who has had 3 or 4 winning seasons in the 25 years prior to Wade). Again this still may have been the right decision but here comes the embarrassment.

Then hired who I think is on his way, barring drastic change, to not only being the worse coach in LSU history but SEC history. No offense to Matty Ice but this has been abysmal.

How anyone thinks this isn't an all time blunder from the Athletic department is beyond me and shows many LSU fans don't hold this basketball program to any standard.
