We still have the resources and the recruiting base. This will get fixed.

I have tried hard to get behind O, but I think he and his staff are lost. I never imagined the team being this bad. Regardless of whether O is canned or not after this season (and I'm starting to believe he will), we will be okay. Nowhere to go but up. This is not 1990. Things will never be that bad again.

We do have glaring talent and depth issues. I know, I know, we have a bunch of 4 and 5 stars. But maybe some of those guys were simply misses. Our 4 star recruits were getting manhandled last night. It wasn't all coaching. They were getting beaten in hand to hand combat. Yes, a lot of it was youth, and those guys may turn out to be thoroughbreds.

Patience, people.

ETA: and yes, it will take a new coach to fix it... but we have to be patient.

I was against O from the beginning, and I didn't think the team would be this bad this fast either.

It's fascinating really.

Yes, they are young. But they are also undisciplined. That won't bring any changes.

It'll take a couple of years from when we find a new HC. And only if we don't mess that up too.

Lots of young talent on this team.. we need to hire a proven coach and in a few years Lsu will be formidable again

Excellence is fragile and LSU was an excellent program for close to a decade straight.

There's a small pool of coaches who LSU can turn to for "guaranteed" success: coaches who have proven they can get the job done.

Many of them would be willing (IMO) but none of them will be cheap.

Weren't you on here earlier in the week calling people childish and delusional for calling for O to be fired?

Who in LSU's current leadership has the competence to fix this?

We need the Will Wade of football. A high energy coach to come in and have the nuts to point out what changes need to be made to the program.

We definitely DO NOT have the "Recruiting Base" for Offensive Line!

Feel the same way. Don't know why all the downvotes. When you are a 4 to five star recruit you don't just become a bad player all of a sudden because of coaching. Honestly I hope they change the depth chart up.

I'd like to see Davis, Sullivan, Pettigrew, Taylor, Phillips, Divinity, Myles, Deculus, and Harris with more playing time

We had resources and the same recruiting base in the 90s too.

And just like then, it looks like a decade before we are competitive again.

Thanks Fking
Thanks Alleva
Thanks O

I know. In my worst nightmare it was never this bad.

I thought with the talent on the team and the recruiting class we just signed, 7-5 was the worst case scenario this year.

Now that looks hopelessly optimistic
