Track and Field under Pat Henry sure filled in a lot of blanks on National Championships in the past 20-30 years.
Okay, I'm not one of these guys constantly bashing Alleva, but in ALL sports, we have ONE national championship in the past eight years. One. Considering Alleva is on record as saying we "compete" for them and that's our goal, this is one area that yes, he should be held accountable.

I tend to agree. Don't misunderstand, I'm not bashing CPM or the baseball team. I'm just saying with this drought of national championships in almost the past decade, getting that close to winning another NC in baseball but falling just short was frustrating.

We didn't need it badly..we are still the best baseball program going back many years
The pain has almost worn off for me and I'm content with how deep we got. Next season without Walker though kinda makes me wanna cry

I meant we needed it badly in the context of winning only one natty in all sports the past eight years.

Pretty damning statistics there. You can't deny the parity in baseball now though. Back when Skip was doing it, not many other athletic programs were all in on the baseball program like LSU was.

Downvote away but I really don't give a shite about track and field national championships. LSU played for a football title in 2011 and lost. Played for baseball this year and lost. I'm not sure how LSU winning or losing those has anything to do with Alleva. It doesn't provide any qualitative measure on his job performance if those championships turn out differently.
Women's softball was in the College World Series and gymnastics just barely missed a title themselves. Just hired what looks to be a promising young basketball coach. The Orgeron hire ultimately will be what makes him or breaks him but all the complaining about "championships" comes across a tad spoiled and devoid of perspective.
