We need to be ready to pay $10million/yr

Don't hire a coach out of a job.
Don't hire a coordinator that hasn't proven himself.
Don't hire a coach on the hot seat.
SCALP a head coach with a stout winning record from another school.
Be willing to transform philosophy and clean house.
Have $ for ALL the buyouts (HC, coordinators, etc) on both sides (coming and going).
And boosters need to choke the LSU Board politically and financially.

We never will because of the optics of a state in huge budget crisis doesn’t work out. Sad but that’s how it will be played

How is this optics for you:
Decline in $ from attendance.
Decline in $ from merchandise sales
Losing record.
Forced to pay a buyout we should have never had to pay because of being worried about "optics".
3+12 to get rid of O.
Instead of 10 to keep a good coach.
That excuse worked once. It failed. It can't be allowed to work again.

10 million salary for the new coach

Deals with Les should have never been that good.
Offer to O should have never been made.
Pay for premium coach... save money. And also, make money. We are losing revenue by not making playoffs and bowls. Merchandise and ticket sales down. (lost/will lose way more than $35 million)
But after making the boneheaded decision to hire O:
