Understandable. Nobody's telling you to lose all inhibitions but there is a lot of signs pointing to these guys being in the know so I'm cautiously optimistic and feel like we might've pulled off something great.

We know HG. It's good to question the norm.

But if it's true, then it is truly a great time to be a Tiger.

We can celebrate the best we've had and the incredible new staff coming in.

It would do wonders to finally untie this fan base.

Will be fun to see this play out.

I have no inside sources but also no doubt that LSU has Jimbo in the crosshairs.

My hesitation to saying done deal is can/will FSU match or better our offer?

Will we get in a bidding war? Or are we already at best and final?

HG, I think it all comes down to the agents.

Alleva deals with Les's agent to give him plausible deniability. Jimbo stonewalls with logic ("no job opening") and "no comment" because he does not want to be the next guy in Florida to say, "How many times do I have to tell you, I am not going to be the next coach at..."

That would be the biggest positive for all of this. Unite behind the staff and get Tiger Stadium back to the savage beast of old.

Lee Chatelain, if he retires, does that mean he's done with coaching? Only options left would be something like being on the Gameday panel (would be awesome!)

Retire, step down. LSU and Les are going to make it to where it's good for both. Both look good in the end.

It's what we've been missing.

You know how many times I've seen family members try to fist fight over Les Miles?

I bought season tickets just to get away from them.

;)

Yeah, we are crazy LSU fans. But this is really what we need.

I truly believe in this situation money matters but is not the main focus.

What's Bama going to do when Saban REALLY goes to UTA this year and Strong to UM?

What? That some folks don't support the team because of the coach?

Well, that's going to happen - that's the nature of being the LSU head coach. People didn't like Saban when he was here. "Too conservative" - "doesn't win games as underdog" - "wins ugly". Of course his personality didn't help that - his public persona is generally unlikable. Apparently, he gets it together for recruits and such.

So, the honeymoon period - for whomever it is going to be - will last until a loss - or an ugly win - or a timeout SNAFU (which all happens even in the NFL) - then, they will secretly root against the team until THAT guy is fired. Rinse - repeat.
