That's ridiculous. Even if you made the bobble argument...he can and still could make a play.

No, but I know the rules of baseball and that was NOT intereference. I am glad we won, but I am just pointing out that we got a break on the call. Watch the replay and slow it down and you will see what I am talking about.

Ok, still. It'd be 1st & 3rd with 2 outs and the next guy up grounded out. We still win coach. Oh, and it makes up for the blown call at first. We're even.

Watching the replay, Jacoby had already misplayed the ball and then the collision occured. This is not intereference. The baserunner did not impede the fielder's ability to make a play. I would bet my bottom dollar that is what Serrano was arguing about.

The next guy doubled, but it still would have been 7-6 Tigers with a runner on 2nd and 2 outs.

Ok dude, I did watch the replay.

In fact here it is. LINK

Now YOU watch it. Jones is still able to make a play even after he bobbled it but the runner interferes.

Wrong again. Once the fielder is given right to field a ball cleanly (which he had) and boots it then there is no longer interference. God you people seriously don't know the rules of baseball.

Nola picked up the ball and tagged the runner on the ground, so he was still out..

Not in the video he didn't unless he did that after the dude got up.

What would have been the correct call, in your opinion? No interference called, two players lying motionless in the infield. What next?

NO, NO, NO, NO...HE KICKED THE DAMN BALL. The intereference ceases at that point!!! Ask any umpire. The field umpire didn't see the kick or he wouldn't have called it. I swear that is the rule. Look it up.

Baseball invalids....Have you ever watched a homeplate collision when both guys are knocked senseless and the pitcher picks up the ball and tags the baserunner???? There you go.

even if it did go under his glove, 9 times out of 10 the ump would rule interference on that. it was bang/bang in real time

He clearly bobbled the ball before the collision as it looks like he misplayed it, but it is very likely that he saw the runner in his periphial. I think the ump had to default to interference on this one, since it was bang bang.

Rule 7.08(b) Comment: A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not.
If, however, the runner has contact with a legally occupied base when he hinders the fielder, he shall not be called out unless, in the umpire’s judgment, such hindrance, whether it occurs on fair or foul territory, is intentional. If the umpire declares the hindrance intentional, the following penalty shall apply: With less than two out, the umpire shall declare both the runner and batter out. With two out, the umpire shall declare the batter out.
