He has no recruiting experience. No relationships with high school coaches. Was fired 4 games into this season. Was fired last season too.

At least when Miles gave a job to his buddy, BDP returned the favor by winning national recruiter of the year.

In his 2015 season with the Jets, they ranked last in net punting, gave up 4 ST TD's, had the 3rd most avg punt return yards allowed, and ranked 26th in kick returns.

ETA: Also, he consulted for us throughout most of this season, and we still sucked.

its always hard for me to compare coaching in the NFL to college, its just so different

its why I always laugh about people who use Belicheck when defending O's past

so, through all of this...

Southern Miss (1978)
Graduate assistant
Tulane (1979)
Tight ends coach
Arizona (1980–1986)
Defensive line coach & secondary coach
Southern California (1987–1990)
Secondary coach & kicking coach
Ohio State (1990)
Secondary coach

He did zero recruiting?

Correction: He may have recruited on the West Coast 30 years ago.

He was a coach at Southern Miss, Tulane, Arizona, USC and Ohio State. Granted it was 30 years ago, but that shouldn't be overlooked

He'll learn how to use Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat and FB if he already doesn't. Or maybe he'll stay old school and use the phone and face to face and keep the conversations honest and real.

It's quite different when you inherit grown men to coach rather than developing them as freshmen in college. With the way LSU recruits he should have no problem schooling our secondary athletes to be great special teams players

It doesn't take much to get people to drink purple kool-aid around here. Just hire a coonass.
