Our "talent" may be seriously over-rated......our O and D lines were overwhelmed......Etling is not an SEC-level QB......and our WRs can't catch a cold....other than that, we're great......

That team needs some discipline first. Once they get that, then we can move to schemes and talent.

In fairness, that is a possibility.

Here's the deal, I saw some great things in moments in the game last night both on offense and defense. It's that everytime we would do something good or have the defense on their heals flags would fly and not everyone of those flags were warranted. If this happens all year you can forget about a winning season but if we can somehow get the freakn refs off of our backs and call legit penalties, then the offense will get going. There's no way you can put blame on just one aspect of the team or any one coach. If you do that then your just being ignorant. There were good things I saw last night. This team needs to come together, hold each other accountable for actions, and flip this thing back. Good news is that we have a stretch to work on lots of things before we play Florida. LSU and Canada need to let it all fly. Give these guys some confidence by getting them all involved in the gameplan. Give it to Guice build some momentum, work fast but efficient. I'm telling you guys that offense was about to take off before the flags just started flying all over the place. Here's a fact, I watched football all day long and didn't see not one of the calls which was called in our game called. The flags I saw all day were horrible fouls, they had to throw the flag. They need to let these teams play and while their were some that were legit, there were as many that weren't legit. That took the air out of these players. They literally felt like they couldn't play hard because if they did a flag would fly. It's pathetic for these refs to do that to young men. LSU isn't this dirty, unprepared team, the refs just have a pre-perceived notion that we are and throw flags for anything close. It's not right. And I'm not one to blame the refs but this game was pathetic. The play were Farrell accidentally bumped face masks with Fitz was not the right call. Yes they hit but he was pulling up, play was over and he knew it so he pulled up and they bumped each other. That's sad if that's what going to be called. shite happens and if you see an attempt for the defense to get out of the way that shouldn't be called.

I keep hearing this dicipline gripe but what else can a coach do but bring in the guys who throw the flags to tell them what to do and what not to do?

Last week there was too much dicipline now this week there isn't any? Idk what else y'all expect out of coach O? At some point the players have to be held accountable, you want them to run? He's literally bringing in Refs to show these guys what is called and not called. It's just that these refs have a pre determined idea that LSU is sloppy. LSU isn't the most sloppy team in the country, I've seen MUCH MUCH worse not called.

Point being that play Clemson had on the goal line last year for the national championship, that was much more aggressive pick play and it bothered no one. I'm pretty sure that play was practiced with the refs in practice and was told that it was totally legal, then the game comes and it's illegal?

Dicipline my arse. The man is doing extra to make sure these things are cleaned up, they are just getting horrible calls, often, at big momemtum killing moments in the game. It makes a huge difference and basically has the entire team playing as if the field is made of egg shells. They can't perform in an aggressive manner, once that happens, the team starts pressing, getting out of position, playing bad, out of character, it snow balls out of control. Similar games are extremly hard for any team to gain contraction, or build continuity on offense, then the defense is out too long, especially when the defense is young AND lacks depth because of injury or just lacking because of past recruiting.

I've been saying this all year, we need more ELITE DEs, NTs, and bigger MLBs. We don't need so much speed out there because our edge of the defense has plenty of quickness and speed, it's the middle which needs to be shored up. Apparently the safety position needs depth as well. Yes we have great young guys but I'm not to sure we have much behind Delpit and Stevens. I would also go after some big smart 4.0 OTs, and OGs as well. Mostly we need the ELITE DEs, pick up some smart guys, guys who are mentally tough. We need them in a bad way. OTs, MLBs, DEs, and QBs. The big, smart, mentally tough, athletes at these positions.

If we do that and keep the recruiting going for the other skill positions, LSU will be fine.
