We are ahead of teams like Bowling Green, Memphis, Houston, Oregon, Tulsa, Cal and West Virginia.

And, for anyone who wants to say we are doing it against crappy defenses, we basically hit our average of 7.07 per play against a Top 10 defense, with us gaining 423 yards on 60 plays against Florida (that's actually 7.05 yards per play).

ETA: With link to NCAA stats website. It's not sortable, so you have to sift through it manually. To be honest, I didn't go past page 1 (which is the Top 50 offenses) because I just assumed there was no way anyone below 50 could average anything close to 7 yards per play.

We eliminate the stupidity on punt returns and we win out.

They tweaked things already. They'll tweak more.

I know we have several starters on special teams already, but perhaps you keep adding them until you get it right.

That said, I think Gamble will kick the ball deep enough to curtail more of the KO return issues.

HOWEVER, Keehn cannot be trusted to directional kick with the right distance consistently. He has no idea where the ball will go most of the time. What does that mean? It means the coverage team is often hung out to dry.

If there is not another option on the sidelines, the problem will not go away.

Just think if Les actually ran up the score. Teams like Baylor are throwing the ball down the field in the 4th with the game already won.

I was going to post the link but figured it'd be Germans and Id get scolded. We are #4 in the country in offensive efficiency according to ESPN's FPI rankings. Behind Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech only.

I don't even know who our backup punter is but I would not be surprised to see him get a shot this week especially if game is not real competitive.

Brad Wing was the best I have ever seen at this. He could nail the ball on the 5 yd line and just inside the sideline. I watched him warm up once and I was in the endzone behind him. He actually kicked a curve ball that would be headed OB and would curve right back in to the sideline hash marks. He also was very consistent that he knew how far he was going to launch the ball just like he picked his favorite golf club.

Just have Gamble kick it out of the back of the end zone on every kickoff and score on every drive so we don't have to punt. Problem solved!
