Nobody forgets. It's more like everybody is sick and tired of hearing it ad nauseam all the time whenever Scott's name is mentioned. So most people won't mention it anymore because they don't want to get all the down votes it usually garners.

He's like a more athletic Troy Smith

He's very similar to Russel Wilson, as they are both 5'11" and both of them are very athletic, quick, and fast. He's also super smart as he graduated high school with an overall 3.8 gpa, and according to Herb Tyler, he has very excellent leadership skills. Sounds to me like he is perfect for Canada's misdirection heavy offense.

Etling will be the starter and Matt Canada's Offense will be different than the one he ran at Pitt. He'll tailor it to the strengths of the QB.

How many SEC schools offered Lindsey Scott a scholarship?

He'll make a great WR. Too short to play QB in the SEC. Will not be able to consistently throw the ball at the level you need................

None. So what. The SEC is the worst QB conference of the Power 5. It's a "running league. Not a QB league. Scott had 2 Big 10 offers, and 2 ACC offers. Both conference are better QB conferences than the SEC.

Blake Sims

I think he broke the school record with 3000 yds passing. Height didn't seem to stop him one bit.

I'll say this, he has more capability in escaping pressure than any LSU QB I've seen after watching his practice video against the first team defense. However, it was just practice. He had some sick moves though when people like Key had him in their sights. I'd bet on Etling and time will tell.

Most of us have never seen him play, but we have heard from various people that he is damn good. In fact, Herb Tyler says that Scott is the best quarterback right now on the team and is more than a little electrifying. He also says that Scott's leadership skills are second to none and that he should be the starter in 2017. Coach O has said Scott is going to be a real good dual threat quarterback for us. Mike Dettilier says he is an outstanding athlete and that he has a very accurate arm. Now personally I don't know, but I tend to believe it when people that know football say he is damn good.

Thank you for correcting the previous poster. Most of us "supporters" have also watched quite a few interviews of him AND those who know him and his skillset. So we have a good idea where this kid's mind is and what kind of player he is. Not to mention his work ethic that we keep hearing about. This has absolutely shite to do with the old cliche "the backup is always the most popular QB." That holds no weight in this conversation.

And for those who say his height is a factor for him to start in the SEC, you must not watch football.. EVER. Wilson and Brees are both under 6 feet tall and have done pretty well in the best league in the world. Another BS argument.

a lot of misdirection formations

no one and I mean no one used more misdirection formations than cam Cameron. in fact, there was so much misdirection that the offense didn't even get the call in on time to run the play. there was so much misdirection the QB couldn't find any of his receivers; there was so much misdirection that the OL didn't know who to block and sometimes just said "frick it" and whiffed, there was so much misdirection that only les miles knew what was supposed to happen but he just couldn't communicate it in the lexicon used by normal americans.

According to Herb Tyler and Mike Detillier, Scott is already the best passer on the team. He only passed for 3039 yards and 33 touchdowns his senior season, and added another 1963 yards on the ground and another 28 touchdowns, for over 5002 yards and 61 touchdowns altogether, while leading Zachary to its first state title since 1974.

Meanwhile, Russel Wilson, who ran Matt Flynn out of Seattle, is a damn good QB who is only 5'11" and built pretty much the same as Scott.

In addition, Drew Breeze is only an inch taller, but can't run the ball nearly as well as Scott, nonetheless he isn't any slouch when it comes to passing the ball.

To say Flynn and Mauck were similar is stupid. Flynn was 10x the QB Mauck was. Not a knock on Mauck as he did great for us, but he wasn't NFL caliber.

I believe State actually either gave him an offer (probably non-commitable) or showed interest. As we all know, Mullen does a pretty good job of uncovering underrated QBs. I don't think Fitzgerald even had another FBS offer, and he's turned out ok.

Scott's ratings are purely based on his size. I was hesitant about his potential here because of Miles and Cam, but I think he could be an effective QB under a guy like Canada.

They don't know, man because they're typical LSU fans that's why. I guarantee you if Scott won the starting job and played lights out at QB for LSU in leading them to the CFP, they would swear they never said anything negative about him in the singing of his praises. lol

Scott has to be a extremely talented kid to put up those kind of numbers like he did in his senior year of HS football. That's someone that is explosive, and being a former ball player myself I know you have to have talent to do that. They talk about his height, but if you have the talent your damn height doesn't matter! I mean Greg Ward Jr isn't as talented as Scott I think, but look what he did in Tom Herman's system at Houston last season, and he is 5'11" also. If you have the skills the height doesn't matter because you can still produce.
