This freshman was making plays and disrupting things all over the place: on D, on kickoffs, on punts, in the secondary, blitzing, even during TV timeouts while talking to his teammates or to the opposition or to the coaches. This guy is a leader and all the upperclassmen listened to him like a coach.

He also had two trips to the training table to get his ankle taken care of in the 1st quarter. This guy's talents can't be fully appreciated on TV. See him live. A&M constantly tried to send things away from him.

His dad was a first rounder in the NFL. Jamal will play on Sundays, and we will only have him two more years. My hat's off to #33.

If he isn't a Freshman All-American, I've never seen one in my life.

Honey badger 2.0. Dude is a true playmaker. Think of any game turning defensive play this year and he was either involved or a yard away.

While I do think he's just as talented/valuable, I don't really like this comparison. What amazed me about the honey badger were his ball hawking skills and his tackling strength despite his size and weight room stats. What amazes me about Jamal is his versatility as a defender and his knack for being involved in every play. I see more Eric reid in him tbh, but with an even higher ceiling

Best player on the field. Even over LF which is saying a lot. Others may disagree but he was imo

I thought the hype surrounding him when he signed with LSU was overblown.

It wasn't. He has played like a veteran from day 1.

The maturation of the DT's, the emergence of Beckwith, and the stable of DB's has made the prospect of a national championship type defense for '15 a reality. A serviceable offense to complement it remains the mystery.

Eric Reid > honey boo badger

Jamal Adams has potential to be better than Reid.

Announcers noticed early on that his name was being called a lot on plays. This was a big game for him being a TX guy. He has the potential to be an AA at safety.

Arguably our best defender the back half of the season.

I'm not quite there, but I'm excited he got to play so well. Honestly, Thomas was our best defender (maybe tied with Kwon) until he got hurt and Adams played because of that injury. Something about the system puts that guy in a position to make plays, but Adams makes plays all over the field.

Other guys have come on since, Beckwith most notably, but the future is bright. We have loads of young talent to make plays for another 2 or 3 years.
