It was to me. Every minute

We only suffered in a covid* year and a sub par 2021. The year before the natty we were ranked 5th and won a new years six bowl.

Yes
Had he remained humbled to other coaches and not kicked his wife to the curb and not made dumb comments for Saban to motivate his team, and not let Derek Pomansky make crucial decisions the optics would be a lot better.

Actually O was not a bad coach from 2016 to Jan 2020. He prepared the team for 2019 NC. Things fell apart after the NC for a variety of reasons all of which had something to do with the way he handled everything after the NC. 2019 may never be repeated by any team.

Never will know the alternative but you can look at a lot of positives out of him being hired:

1. 2019
2. Making offense at LSU seem possible
3. Making playing QB at LSU cool
4. Winning the national title and bolstering the job status by virtue of him of all people being able win here

100% that was incredible. Obviously, I understand that programs have down years. We're a little to far down right now for my liking. It will make the rise more fun though.

All Joe Burrow. The kid has made numerous unqualified coaches lots of money and continues to do so.

Its hard to say that Burrow would have ever been in an LSU jersey if things had gone any other way.

Having the greatest qb in a generation play for LSU was worth it, imo

Is there a better alternative than the best CFB team in history?

Maybe could be replicated but certainly not topped

O was a damn good coach when he was focused. However, after he won the Natty, he divorced his wife, who previously was his anchor, lost his focus, and started taking LSU and his coaching job for grant it, and it ended up costing him his job.

Hell Yeah,
03 NC was the best because it was first for me. And 07 was great, I was at both those but 7just wasn't like 3 , 2011 Should have been the best and really was one of the greatest teams ever too... but the Assholes making us play bama X2 was bullshite ! 2019 WAS a Magic Carpet Ride !

Hope that answers your question

If the last two years are the price, the answer is yes.

Being able to say we had the greatest season ever is definitely worth it…especially since we’re ripping the bandaid off quickly. I really don’t care how it miraculously came together under his watch…worth it.

No doubt that Burrow was most responsible for us being so phenomenal that year. It's the best season I have ever seen a QB on any level have. We also had a great supporting cast.

O was at least paying enough attention to realize he needed to get another QB to get LSU to the next level. He didn't just rely on what he had in Myles, etc. After being told about Burrow from Busch, he recruited him hard and got him to choose LSU over Cincinnati even though LSU was known for having poor passing offenses. So I have to credit O there.
