Went to AF Academy, mom had cancer, went home and attended Kilgore to be closer to mom during chemo.

He was a two star Air Force commit out of high school and unrated out of JUCO. I believe that was their first JUCO only camp where he was discovered and they found a gem. I'll admit, I was "gee, another Juco tight end" guy.

Some kids develop more slowly than others. It's why you have plenty of NFL stars coming out of directional schools.

I knew he was a big boy but I didn't realize he was Gronk's size

His bio lists him as an accounting major at the top and civil engineering major at the bottom. Which is it?

I don't see how any football player could do engineering while playing. Even if it is civil aka engineering lite.

Tennessee QB Dobbs is an aerospace engineering major, insane how he handles that course load + being a starting QB. Incredible.

The Air Force academy is a pretty rigorous school with tough admission standards. Many of their engineering programs are top 5. I'm sure the kid is very smart.

If you're referring to time commitment then who knows. Maybe the kid is doesn't need to study as much as his peers.

Or maybe he studies instead of going to the club

Great story on him:

Wendy has been free of cancer since late 2013 — about six months before he visited LSU for a camp, was offered a scholarship and committed. The camp came a few days after LSU assistant Steve Ensminger stumbled upon Jeter while recruiting in Texas. Jeter just happened to be at his old high school when Ensminger stopped by. He was looking for a tight end. Jeter was working out in the weight room.

Hell yes it is.

For him to go from late 2014 JUCO add, to basically our starting TE over several more heralded players, it goes to show you that recruiting services miss far often than they hit.

I hope he eventually gets to fly. He chose AF because his dream was to be a fighter pilot.

Is he okay from that hit he took vs. Barn?
